ST 200Mbps plan but soon changing. Good that u know how to resolve it yourself. Actually by right should not have a "real down" or else will be troublesome. Read a few Starhub users complaint about having some issues too. Honestly internet sure got a bit small issue.

Does anyone know what is the SLA that MR need to fulfil for the installation service? Seems like I am held hostage by MR. If they decided to ignore me for next 1 to 2 years and i cannot cancel my contract because the installation fail and the contract has not started. i am also unable to go to the new vendor because they are hogging onto the ONT point. There are nothing i can do about it.

Not true that u can not do any thing. Suggest you go to MyRepublic head office at Ubi Ave 3 to talk to any one of the MyRepublic management staff to see how it can be resolve. You can request their help to release your contract without charges and if they say pay $ then bargain with them. If really fail then go to CASE to resolve the issue.

If MR really down. Few hundred post will appear here. If it's super fine and nothing wrong. NO 1 will be here.. except some of us.

If MR down/ddos, will have at least 3 pages worth of ranting, want to jump ship, demanding compensation etc etc from MR users (me included) :D

MR for now needs to prioritise customer service fulfillment and learn how to anticipate and cope with potential demand

Let me give all that is installing some tips..

1. Make sure the technician is able to show you a working connection on his laptop before he leaves.
2. Test the connection with your PC before the technician leaves.
3. IF you do not get a working connection, make sure you find the reason behind it and get an ETA for things to be resolved before the technician leaves.
4. Get the phone number from them if things don't work.
5. Lastly, Be prepared for few days to few weeks down time , everyone that is signing up should be aware of the delays that's occurring between opennet and the ISPs.
6. Call and rush them if things don't work.

Thanks for the tip !

Just receive email from Myrepublic saying my area got capacity issue. (Since January, lol)

While Opennet said, for my case,

"MyRepublic has encountered insufficient resources at their side and this will need to be topped up before your order can proceed."

MR said mid may can be done. Hopefully...

Hi all,

I understand how frustrating it will be for getting push around and pointing fingers..

Not siding anyone here just some advice.

Call ON to check on your premies status( please don't tell me you should not be the one making the call, I am asking you to hear both side where the actual problem is, MR or ON? So you know who are actually screwing and cause the delay)
Ensure your TP is active which after ON done with the installation they are to check the signal via ODTR and end with a testing of SMS reply back with a matching SN used by a sample ONT which all ONT have.

Just sharing my 2 cents..

If you are already out of contract, don't see why you can't cancel when others have. Besides MR already said they will promptly release the ONT and not hog on to it in another thread.

Called 20 times to whom? Whom you spoke to? Did they inform you delay caused by what?

We are all very well verse of how many screw up ON have since it's launch in Singapore.

And sad to say ON is the only one that control the installation and activation of our TP which I don't think anyone disagree to this point.
So many delay since day 1 of ON and what had been done?

So all ISP is sort of at the mercy of ON(we all know who owns ON) and you really think they will promptly provide you the service in this crazy pricing?

What I meant is I fully agree that MR should buck up and not save cost on their CS. But I quite sure MR also want your business but who else they can turn to when even that time ON just started on installation and so many affected and delay for more than 1 year?

My point is who can MR turn to and complaint that will be effective to make ON be more cooperative?

Fellow end user, I can understand when you complain about speed issue and routing but if it comes to ON installation, 2nd port and fibre take over issue. Shouldn't the fault be more likely fall on ON and not MR?

Look at MR effort of breaking the international capped that force big 3 to do the same!
Look at MR effort to no throttle!
Look at MR being this crazy $49 for 1GBps plans compare to

green same plan at almost $400 and now forced to come up counter of 500MBps at $60+!?? So much differences and not even half of $395.

Red 500m at $79.90 and come up with "the fibre truth"? Why not "the Competition truth"

Orange 1GBps at $399 or 300MBps at $55

Look at the pricing, don't you think it's almost the same? After all these years, profit keep going up so does the pricing and only recent years MR force them to be a little more concern and think twice before admend another unfavorable plan to us consumer.

Guys.. Cut them some slack since MR is a new ISP, no doubt need to improve in many area but hey, they are truly providing a damn good pricing to benefit us end user..

I agree on the part that after MR enters the market, pricing have dropped drastically across all ISPs/RSPs.

You are not alone, Googled that line and found another FB user posting both MyRepublic and Opennet conflicting response....
---
MyRepublic: "We are very sorry to inform you that OpenNet has insufficient fibre resources to install MyRepublic 1Gbps in your area, which means that we are currently unable to finish processing your order.
As they operate Singapore?s fibre infrastructure, we are required to wait for OpenNet to give us the go-ahead before we can proceed with any 1Gbps fibre broadband service installation.
We expect to know more in about 2 weeks and will drop you a call to update you on your order and installation status.
Your installation status will depend on your specific address because each location is served by a different internet exchange and different fibre lines. As this issue requires the installation of new backend equipment, testing and final verification by OpenNet, it may take some time and we seek your patience and understanding.
We know that this is disappointing news and we are sincerely sorry for any inconvenience caused. Getting everyone on 1Gbps as soon as we can is our top priority and we are working around-the-clock with OpenNet to see what else we can do to facilitate this process."

---
OpenNet: "We understand your frustration over the delay in fibre installation. All service providers such as MyRepublic using OpenNet's fibre network needs to put in place the necessary network infrastructure (such as tie cables) to enable the provisioning of service connections.
In this case, MyRepublic has encountered insufficient resources. This will need to be topped up before your order can proceed. OpenNet is working to assist MyRepublic on this matter. Once MyRepublic has resolved this issue, you will be receiving an update from them."

---
Who is telling the truth? MyRepublic usual general reply vs Opennet more specific reason pointing to problem with MyRepublic resources in the CO (Central Office). In the end it is the customer who suffers.

Prices have dropped is a good thing, but service and quality has also dropped..

In my honest opinion, I've never faced so much trouble resolving issues regarding bill.

Things that I've been confirmed to be resolved by MR has occurred again and again repeatedly.. don't ask me what.. just look at my post history.
I've faced endless issues (billing, internet, customer service) ever since i upgraded and it's like a part of my life now.

Worst is I've had no compensation even after being so miserable and facing so many consecutive issues, it's just crazy that contacting their support is already eating so much of my time.

Okay, ranting aside.

For my installation failure, i called MR hotline more then 20 times.. because something really wrong happened.. U can also say i repeatedly said the same thing 20 times. (I've never contact support hotline the first year as i don't call for average issues).

But they just give me like 3 calls back just saying it's opennet backend problem and tell me to wait up to one week for my connection to be working.

First of all, i wasn't informed in advance by MR for any installation failure.. if MR was already aware that few of these cases had already happened why didn't they warn in advance?

Next is MR cannot provide a temporary solution at all, means u will have no access to internet at all if u don't have a working data network device.
That's as good as being not able to communicate with them in other ways, which makes it even more miserable.

Opennet should take responsibility for MR, and MR should be responsible for the customers since every procedure was done through them.

If u ask who can MR turn to, then i also have to ask the same question to ourselves.

Also recently, it seems that both sides are just telling their part of the story.

In the end, they don't lose anything.
Customers lose.

Check VQ thread, there are reports of fiber resources delaying installation as well. If MR is giving excuses, how much chances there will be for another provider to be giving same excuses again?

From the account u posted, it could mean that MR is supposed to top it up, but need to get approval from ON because they own the passive infrastructure, and never got the prompt approval. The person replying for Opennet might not know what's going on with the department that is approving the topping up by RSPs.

You are correct 5 years ago, Opennet couldn't cope with the demand but thats all in the past, 2 years ago, there was a wide review, with feedback from ISPs, the contract was tightened up and Opennet got fined.

But that doesn't mean MR supporters should continue to believe this conspiracy that Opennet or whoever is behind it is trying to sabo MR. Even MR Vice President Greg insist this is not true as related here:

...[MR]'s VP, Greg, called me to explain the situation in detail and clearly. He even called me again before he wrote to IDA to close the case; that was really courteous! He repeatedly rejected my claim about ON sabotaging MR, saying that MR enjoys an excellent relationship with ON.

As to your point, MR like other ISP are protected by the ICO Agreement -ICO Agreement | OpenNet. There are time-frames to follow, updates to report and penalties all listed there in detail. MR can claim compensation, file dispute and complain to IDA. MR is certainly not a weak, helpless victim at anyone's 'mercy'.

Fellow end user, I can understand when you complain about speed issue and routing but if it comes to ON installation, 2nd port and fibre take over issue. Shouldn't the fault be more likely fall on ON and not MR?

People are complaining about MyRepublic non-communication and miscommunication.

Besides the 1Gbps, you credit MyRepublic too much. History is incorrect. It was M1 since 2010 that actually shook up the fibre market, offering value for money fibre plans as low as $29 with speed starting from 25Mbps. M1 is also first to have no international bandwidth cap.

MyRepublic is not new anymore, they already over 2 years old and should know what is going on by now. So I strongly disagree that as consumers, we should be cutting them any slack or worst as someone said before 'give in to them', remember MyRepublic is still a business, a company not some charity. So let treat it as business and not make it too personal.
