I believe this has been mentioned many times that speedtest is just a gauge and not everything.

MR did not optimize the routes to the speedtest servers as this may show like a form of cheating.

Accepted. But this was the evidence the technician showed after installing the connection - to prove that its is a 1gbps plan. The change in speeds only occurred like a few days ago, about a month after. Now it has even dropped to like 200-300 mbps! My Singtel line is still showing >300 mbps. The upload speed seems to be stable though for all except the Singtel server.

Your posting makes me laugh but I can't agree more.

Something is wrong with connectivity to singtel, losing packets when I'm connecting to a singtel client.

Speedtest results confirms that issue.

Singtel ( x3 Test )

Telin

Starhub

Viewqwest

MR Reps, what is wrong?

You are not singtel user so singtel server slow will not affect you.
You should be more interested in your International speed.

Issues Resolved

Hi guys, after my previous complaints, MR finally fixed my connection and everything is great now. To be honest, MR's field engineers are the best that I've seen so far. They are friendly, fast and chirpy. However, they really need to work on their communication between CS and techs. Anyway, everything is smoothly done and completed, so I'm now a happy customer. :s13::s13:

My 15th day without internet services. Contractor come and left. Repeat exactly what the installer did...still no connection. Then come the words that i been expecting to hear. "Its open net issue. Will make an appointment to get them down". There goes my another day of leave. "World class service"...

21 days without internet services. Opennet and MR engineer came and found nothing wrong. All patching point and signal is good and correct. This is still a MR problem....

The connection light on your new ONT is still blinking green?

You mentioned OpenNet engineer came into your house or he came down to your block to check their back end system?

I am down with no proper internet since 14 April (a month). They came on 30 April to provided me a temporary cable modem which is on approx. 30Mph...
It got worse for me as I was told this morning that I have to continue paying my monthly bill. Once they resolved it, they will offset my one month wavier granted to me early.

Seriously, what type of service is this? Service not provided and demand continue payment till no further date when to restore my case.

I guess they cant resolve my case and wanted me to quit willingly.

A group of them came, they tested the signal in the house and they also go to the patch area under my block to check whether the fiber has been patch correctly. They left a service report certify that everything is correct and their mobile number in case MR still point finger at them.

Ahh ahh so it is MR now. Quite normal. Honestly even that ST, I complaint earlier that connection to Japan sites slow and still under investigation. When doing route test, I was routed to Starhub before go to japan. Even ST also can have small issue.

I have been there and done that. Same findings and ball back to MR now (that was 2-3wks ago).
I also insisted them let me keep the black router so I can just turn it on to test it as and when required (no need to wait for MRP appointment).

I was told in the world of MRP, there are only 2 people having such problems. I guess we are the "lucky" of all. We so called the special cases but from customer support, tech support & billing we are treated like normal. No diff. after the so call support beefed up.

I am updating my own ticket just to reflect all these as they don't even bother to update the status nor reply officially to me. I like writing my own journal...

Still, my hope now depend on one internal MRP guy that has full awareness of my case.
Image you are a hostage and he is the only guy that you can reach out to and may get you out of the messy situation. He is the most responsive of all in MRP and reactive to my call when I requested to speak to him directly.

Let see, if I can resolve this before June IT show. Else, I just going to say thank you MRP for the great service for the past 2yrs and that we will have to move on with our life.

:-(

Normally your replies are quite an interesting read but this time round I think you're overly positive with no reason in defense for MR.

Speedtest result is surely in no way to gauge the real-time issue but that is just was just one of the only few way to highlight the issue to singtel, I have 2 separate clients on singtel as well and having them do a speedtest to my server yields the same speed result.

Speedtest to singtel never had an issue right from the start, this issue only came up lately this early May for me.

How much do you need to optimize for connections within Singapore itself? Laughable.

You are not singtel user so singtel server slow will not affect you.
You should be more interested in your International speed.

Not sure if I understand you or if we are even on the same frequency but my international bandwidth is fine so far no issues but I am having issues with singtel clients on my server itself.

To all fellow user like myself, please don't tell me about what samknows or IDA or what color ISP. We are all sharing the same pipeline! Doubt me? Simple, your next friend who going to install opennet TP aka FTB just ask your friend to inform you and you follow them thru out the whole procedure. From you premises to our riser>CAD>MDF see where they does the patching to. Who owns it? Even you see opennet installer, your color ISP installer that are all outsource to the same company just wearing different t-shirt loh.

The only different is the pricing.

True that we use the same submarine pipeline but the data reach the exchange first then it move on to the pipeline. If the isp do not have sufficient infrastructure or too many users and never upgrade the infrastructure, connection will be affected. Another problem is the lack of manpower so if need CSO help or telephone technical support help, can forget about it.
