having major issues with twitch.tv for the past few days. Normal base net speed is perfectly fine
Speedtest.net by Ookla - My Results

But twitch.tv streams are either not loading at all or buffering even at medium quality when previously source was smooth.

Running a traceroute to twitch.tv ends up with nothing but request timeout.

Twitch Tv always has an issue on MR network

Taken fresh... MR 1gbps.. still slow isnt it :s22:

Wired or wireless connection?
What router you using?
What cable you using?

The thing is, if you use an outdated router and cable which cannot support 1Gbps, then there's no way you can get the speed MR promised.

ST 200M plan only. When 500Mbps come then ask my wife for a speed test.

Be prepared to be VERY disappointed (hint : my secondary WAN is an ST 500Mbps symmetrical).

Then again, are you even willing to shell out the extra $ for a 500Mbps plan when you're most likely some jobless fella who trolls the forum round the clock with his multiple clone accounts ? :s13:

ST 500Mbps may be able to match MR 1Gbps international speed as international speed is quite limited. Bangkok lifestyle is much slower.

yay my internet is back up... I don't know how or why. I think next time I just call OpenNet myself and see if that's the factor. so far no one get back to me on how was it resolved thus I have no idea how to prevent it either. ONT link light red then after a few appointments (that did nothing other than confirm I have no signal from teh fiber infracstructure) it is showing green again. (after about 7 days)

to be honest while i was internetless the usual worrying and shopping around made me look at the alternatives. VQ was definitely high on my list but is it a bit more expensive than what I would like to pay for considering I just want stability. Starhub... although lucrative... but I remember the times on cable when I want to pull out my hair... due to the instability. Singtel... well I had a horrible experience once with them... i subscribed to their mobile internet, no service for almost 3 months. and I didn't get refunded and it was a pain to try to troubleshoot the issue with their tech support. and in the end I wasn't compensated and I didn't even get to keep the USB stick modem... M1 got a lot of hidden fees. I was their mobile service customer once... not anymore...

plus MR seems to be the only one above the big three that seems to edge out in terms of like setup fees, router, and overall infrastructure... just one point lose out which is the customer service backend. I mean the front end is good, but the front end is so superficial that u might just as well as consider it as not there. Things I notice:
1) customer support CRM is separate from billing(?) crm, thus actually 2 accounts need to be made. Billing CRM not improved since 6 months ago. I hope this is only front end. Support CRM... got a lot of bugs, if I wasn't techy enough you would probably lose me before I got to lodge a service request and even after that I think the experience is not as seamless or contiguous as I expected. I mean for example why do you auto close the request after each reply by your CSR, my request then "disappears" until I go find it, and "reopen" it.

UPDATE: MR called me to tell me that they did reprovisioning, and from what I can google it seems like a deletion of my network profile and a re-setup... I just hope my static IP and other settings were not deleted. Basically what happens is that MR must send a fault ticket to OpenNet (ON) and once ON is done on their end(if anything can be done), MR will do a reprovisioning. Calling ON was not hard either. So for people that have any issues I would suggest calling up ON by yourself to see if you can expedite your process.

So this experience begs me to ask... what then was the point of sending two appointments to the customer to check ONTs with red light, when it seems, a fault ticket to ON and then some short liason with MyRepublic would save everyone the time and money, taking into account of course all cases are unique and mine might be simpler than others. BUT STILL..! a little effort in streamlining would go a long way.

If ST is offering ST500 at S$24.99 per month, do drop a hint here.. i am interested but don't BS with what.. the fastest BB, fastest to international, hassle free, 'miao' tv etc etc etc..we readers are smart. And just like one of the bro mentioned here... ST's name will be tarnished but not that we are worry about that at all... cheers

MR finally coming to install this Sat.

Expecting some cock-up to occur. Any tips I should take note.

Btw, they will start billing once setup is done?

Dun want to pay for half-**** service, as they tend to do some stunt.

Thx all.

ST troll, pls dun reply.

After going through more than a month of waiting, anger and bad services, finally terminated the totally horrible MyRepublic 1Gbps fibre broadband. I do not want to go through the details but hope this act as a warning to consumers who intend to sign up now. Seriously, crap services ! Missed appointment, wasted my time, still dare to ask for termination fee when nothing was setup properly. Do note that you will never get that kind of speed and that's why the broadband plan is cheap. Their network is unreliable. Always down every other two weeks. Save the trouble from signing up with them. Seriously, the 3 main telco Singtel, M1 and StarHub have better services than MyRepublic. Save yourself and trouble from going through the sh*t I had experienced. It's not worth it ! I hope IDA step in to regulate MyRepublic and probably fine the company. Their service is totally unacceptable.

Send an email to MR to ensure that the schedule appointment date(s) have been communicated to OpenNet (if any) and MR Field Engineer.

If installation is successfully, perform a speedtest at http://speedtest.myrepublic.com.sg/ on both direct connection from ONT and wired connection via router (if possible) to ensure that the download and upload speed is okay. Download speed may range from 700-900+Mbps depending on your computer specifications. Test the WiFi on your devices to ensure that the wireless connection is okay.

Billing starts after the installation.

Double confirm that every connection is stable. Then check if you direct connection to ONT is up to standard as well.

Your bill should arrive 3 days after installation

That means I plug a lan cable to the ONT and check the speed with my laptop?

Then after that direct connect to the router and do the same speed test again?

Thanks guys, for all those reply. May ya all huat 4D tml.
