I signed up to the latest 1gbps plan yesterday and received an email upon completion, stating that the order team will only contact me from the 3rd week of Feb onwards.

I'd like to know if I'm already considered part of the first 10,000 sign ups and also when is the ETA for the actual installation?

everyone will be slowly moved to the next plan over time starting from march. If you choose to upgrade/recon =).

upgrade fee of 58 applicable. But there's no penalty fee.

A bit confused with this sentence. Do you mean existing customers who are still in a contract will be upgraded after some time, or we can only be upgraded wen we recontract our plans, be it we break bond and sign new plan or wait till expire then recontract?

MR is not using NC equipment anymore. they are a opco now.
All current subscribers are moving phase by phase over too.
new customer will be under the new op co plan.

Can i know exactly what this means?
I've been with MR since Sept 2012, so when will i be moved over as well? (eg, using the new OpCo equipment)

Customer who have contract for example till 2015 March that get push to new plan in Sep 2014. It will be considered Upgrade.

Contract will end on 2016 Sep.


Recon is for example if your contract expired or expiring next month. Thus, it's recontract...free.

Can I choose when to migrate over to MR after I signed up (like now)?
My contract with the other ISP ends in Q3 and the termination penalty is kinda high (I understand that there's a $200 credit but I'm excluding it in this scenario).

Existing subscribers penalised??

i signed up with My Republic last year and under the 24 mth contract I would get 6 months free subscription. The 1st 3 months would accrued at the end of the year 1 and my 2nd 3 months accrued at the end of year two. I'm into my second month of my second year.

i was told that if i upgrade now, i have to forfeit my next installment of free months. which means that my original calculation of how much i have to pay based on 6 months free subscription is no longer valid and the actual cost of signing up for MyRepublic is actually higher than initially promised.

if i don't upgrade now, the fees when my contract ends could be much higher as threatened by the company. why can't they extend the current offer to all existing subscribers who want to upgrade at the end of their current contract?


i think it is very unfair that existing subscribers are penalised like that for being one of the earlier supporters of MyRepublic. doesn't seem like a good start for a new company in the scene. Looking to screw existing subscribers like the old telcos.

In 1 or 2 months time, Asus maybe launching their new router Asus rt-87u.. Hope this will also be included in your routers to chose from at the point of installation for 1gbps plan.. As your installation date will probably be after their launch..
