is it possible to use another device solely for gigabit WAN-LAN transmission? i want to link up my internal devices with AE.

Since you already own the AE right, why don't you hook it up to see how it fare first? If performance not good enough, we can see how can we proceed from there. Not really recommending to put so many layer of router in a network as that will hinder the performance.

If anyone need me to test anything for 1Gbps, feel free to ask.

PS: I have posted speedtests on various AC68U modes and to major cities earlier. So don't ask that again.. haha..

There is 2 tests remaining that I need to break the barrier limit.

1.) 1Gbps throughput on wireless bridge!
2.) 1Gbps throughput on a 4x4 wifi card

Nope, i tried before uploading a 6gb file to another friend on 1gbps MR.
the max speed i can upload is approx 500mbps and he max it out. no way to get 900mbps as it is limited by my upload.

He downloaded the file in 3 mins. :s22:

what a mess. My agreement with MR was that first month and Installation fees will be waived but in the end, they still charged me for everything...any one else had the same experience?

Hi,

Need advice from expert out there.

Currently I am on the 1Gbps plan.

My Window desktop is only manage to get half of the speed.
I had recently change a INTEL GIGABIT DESKTOP ADAPTER as I suspect maybe due to my onboard network adapter.

The result I tested is still the same.
I suspect it might be due to norton internet security.
Anyone know whether is it due to it and any setting to set to achieve better speed?

I had tested the speed with my Mac Laptop and it could hit up to 1Gbps.
So I confirm there something to do with my Window desktop program.

Thanks for the advice in advance!

For your case, that's really v fast. Just do not understand why some users are having so much issues while others are enjoying v fast speed.

most of the cases are drilled down the improper hardware or configuration. BTW, my wireless is 2t2r only, if i can get hold of a 3t3r laptop then i can test again. Believe it can go higher. :)

How come you tested via direct ONT (since I assume you have a router for wireless) for LAN?

yes i do have a router result, but ONT was the first test to see that the link speed was in place.

Router to Laptop, not much different from direct ONT. In fact it's the same if I run it a few times and take the average.
