The result is still the same with BBQ App Round.

Your router requiring RMA? But its very strange that it locks up at around 17Mbps.

Nope. Separate issues.

by any chance did u over bend the fiber cable by accident?
tried direct connection to ONT yet?
try restore factory defaults on your router too!

also make sure your wireless adapter is disabled!
that speed seems like from a wireless connection.

What's the catch with 1gbps for $50/mth? Viewqwest is showing $150 for their 1000/500 service...

got many catch.... you must hand over your life to the color of purple for the rest of your life and be a slave to Gods of Internet :p

just joking ah...no catch. MR people just like to give free access...if your hard disk kaput at 3am...then it's another matter.

put it another way, 3TB HDD can be maxed at less than 4hrs of data transfer, but can the IOPs take it? Surely the hardware limit is about 300Mbps...for consumer HDD....so its for heavy users who like to download and share torrents on cable.

PS: even on gamer plan, I just trashed 3HDD this month alone...all overloaded. Darn Seagate and WD....

Do VQ customers own the router or just rent the router because I saw on their website stated as "Free Modem/Router Rental"?

I think its your bad luck with those HDD. I have been seeding away for years without IOPS issues even to 8000~10000 peers at the same time. The trick here to reduce the wear and tear is to install more system memory and dedicate more of it to BT caching. My current config allocates 2GB of system memory to cache BT files and my harddisk hardly loaded to the tune of 3 writes/read per second on average. Most of it is coming from the memory cache.

Any bros who are on the 1Gbps plan right now? How is the international bandwidth like?

Is static IP included in the 1Gbps plan?

Their modem is a modem router 2-in-1, but u can use ur own router as well. Take it as they r renting the ONT.

Thinking of switching to MR from Starfug....wonder if the 1gbps is on promo now or after march when they finish their set-up the package will be different.

Dunno if the network will be stable so might sign up after march after getting feedbacks from here.
