okay thanks. how to sign up for teleport?
there don't seem to be an option to opt in for that add on

Its free till june as long as u are using MR's DNS. U dont have to do anything else if u didn't change DNS settings before.

Just go any geolocation restricted website...like pandora.com. if you can stream the radio means your teleport is up and running already.

ok i know this probably have been answered dozens of times but if i sign up with MR on the new contract
when will the new contract kicks in? paying $59.90/mth for 100mbs is a bit of.... lol instead of getting 1GBs(Gamer) at that price

The new contract kicks in the moment we start your new line. Till then you'll be paying your old contract fees.

And that would depend on the MR roll out of the new plans? Is there a definite date or varies by location?

We're actually about to start conducting a beta test and roll out the 1 Gbps really soon. No exact date yet, and yes location does play a factor (but not a big one).

Hi, is this the right thread for the 1gbps plan? Anyway I believe we were one of the early birds to sign up for it and my dad just told me that one of your guys called him to inform him that the 1gbps plan can only come in May. Why is this taking so long? Previously you guys mentioned March, now it's May?! I'm currently using Singtel 100mbps plan and the contract has already expired a few days ago. We were really looking forward to it.

If you guys cannot keep to your schedule, don't make empty promises. We are thinking to cancel our application and look at other ISPs.

I'm not really saying that MR is not at fault but you should focus the blame on the kanpua organization that recently bought over opennet.. Greedy and complaining about not having enough funds for upgrading their network cos of whatsapp

I believe that MR also made a wrong move to announce the 1Gbps plan so early before their back end systems are up and running.

While I believe it's not MyRepublic's fault when OpenNet is delaying the activation process, I think MR is also over promising. By launching and announcing the plan in January, and only doing beta testing in March, it seems like we are being "cheated" when we were informed installation would begin in March. Shouldn't all test be conducted before you announce the launch of this 1Gbps plan? I'm just frustrated with the long wait and paying non-contract price for my current ADSL plan.

i'm currently a starhub broadband customer looking into hopping on your GAMER plan.

i've got some questions i gotta know.

1) provided i'm running an optimal LAN cable, say maybe cat6? will i get sub-100 ping for connections to asia (thailand, india, china, korea, most importantly oceania and japan)

2) what about connections to US or EU? will i get sub-200?

3) since you guys are rolling it out on april, i shouldn't terminate my current broadband until then right? what if there is a delay and i end up not having my current connection terminated before the installation/start of the contract?

4) i don't need the home voice add-on, can i refuse it and not have to pay for something i don't need?

cheers

I think that the delay has caught quite a handful people in between whether to sign up with other RSPs now or continue to wait.

they are using the same "method" as Apple. Announce early, get people to wait, talk about it, get frustrated, and when it arrives.. its All WOW...:s13:

Looks like I am one of the unlucky ones. Signed up in mid Jan, not part of the beta team, now have to wait till May.
