I understand your point of view, and I do agree there are some parts they have to improve on, but lets not get hung up on how good they were in the past because everything has change.

I understand we should be forward looking but something that has turn from good to bad is not serious enough to look into?

You amazed me with your level of selective reading. Seriously , i hope you are just a strong MR supporter and not linked to them in anyway. Cos I will be very disappointed this kind of reply comes from any MR team or affiliated members.

I can agree that not informing he will be late is wrong, but to blame the whole competancy of a company on one small guy is just wrong. Sometimes being late is out of their control right? Haven't you been late because something is out of your control?

That 1 small man is representing the entire company.
Delays are not in their control. I agree.
But not calling to inform there is a delay n let a customer wait on the blind is being incompetent.

This is bad represention of the company's core values n mission. This is what the company should instill on their staff as well as third party vendors.

And CSO has not even called back to check if the situation was rectified or even if the technician has completed the job. This shows hot a company interprets customer service.

Just to bring up an incident for my online purchase for a mobile phone from China 2 weeks ago. The china supplier shipped out the parcel on Sat. and the parcel arrived in SG cargo complex on Tuesday at 1am, I actually expect the goods to cleared custom and be deliver on the same day but when it fail to arrived at my place on that day I accepted it since I may be expecting too much. On Tues., I called in the morning to enquire about the parcel and was told that I can expect delivery in the afternoon, at 5pm no sign of the parcel so I emailed the CS to complain about the lousy service and I got a reply within 30 minutes saying that it may be delayed at Custom and was told to wait another day, but at 8pm the delivery man turned up with the parcel and apologized for the delay. Next morning at 10am I received an email from the CS asking whether I have received the parcel, I am really please with the service rendered and I will gladly use their courier service again. This is what MR have to learn from them, it is a Service Oriented industry.

it's amazing how i get 2 missed calls in a row and an SMS from Myrepublic on a Sunday asking me to recontract, while no one attends to my email on overcharging my subscription for close to 2 weeks. Does that imply that they transferred all their after sales service people to marketing already? hahahahz.... desperate for $$$ to become a proper 4th telco?

Just updated. At the bottom of the fw notes, is this part of what I updated or it's a seperate thing altogether?

"Download master 3.1.0.88
1. Improved GUI response time.
2. Improved download speed.
3. A torrent downloading task may include multiple files and user can choose which files should be downloaded."

And has anyone try the Clock Rate upgrade? Under Utilities below Firmware.

"ASUS RT-AC68U DDR Configuration Upgrade Tool version
This tool can upgrade the RT-AC68U DDR clock rate from 533MHz to 666MHz."

Will there be performance increase?

Actually i kinda agree that the marketing went overboard.. and with this kind of marketing.. it's really bad for the existing customers.

To be honest, after 2 years with them, I am shocked they have become such a ridiculous company. I am so glad they gave me a ridiculous reason to cancel my installation upgrade for 1GB. Now I am free from contract and can wait for Comex for better promotions and whatever it is, I will never stay with MR even if they give me 2 years free.

So waiting to let let MR get their backend settled and stuff sorted out before recontracting will result in me having to pay an additional 10 bucks a month for the next 2 years? Really?

Part of firmware, should be under General>USB Application.

I'm supposed to have my 1Gbps upgrade today and I was told my internet would be down from 9 am onwards. I am still able to access the internet at home though. Should I be worried?

According to them, recontract will be at the old price:
Hi everyone, sorry if there's been confusion over how our new promotional plans work. Here's a clarification:

Our previous $49.99/month 1Gbps plan was originally for the first 10000 customers and yes, we have reached that point. We gathered feedback from customers on pricing to hear suggestions and concerns to plan our new promotion prices.

For New Customers
One thing customers pointed out to us was that they don't mind paying a bit more for the speed, but preferred not to pay large sum of money up front. We discussed it internally, and decided to launch the new promotion at $59.99, but without the $58 installation charge. To sweeten the deal, we also decided to throw in two months free - we're not here to squeeze our customers dry after all.

For Existing Customers
We promised you that $49.99 will be the price you will getting for 1Gbps, and we plan to honour that.

All recontracting customers will still get to sign up for 1Gbps at $49.99 per month (with NO installation charge), or choose 300Mbps at $39.99 per month.

To summarise:

New customers - $59.99 per month for 1Gbps + installation charge waived + 2 months free

Recontracting customers - $49.99 per month for 1Gbps + installation charge waived.

Hope that clears things up! Also note that these rates are for 2 year contracts, and refer mostly to our Ultra plans.

Actually, to be honest, in many ways we miss those days too. Some of us still joke about how we don't know the names of some of the people in our office, when in the past we knew everyone in the company.

The 1Gbps rollout was a real turning point for the company. Almost overnight, we had to grow exponentially. Everyone saw how we made mistakes with the 1Gbps rollout - we were simply outpaced by the growth that was required of us. We scrambled and we fumbled

But the company is also determined that just because we need to grow, doesn't mean the company needs to change into a different "person". Like when we bid to be the 4th telco, unlimited data was one of our main driving points. We're not in the business for the money, we're here because we want to change the game.

To everyone who didn't get a reply from tweets, PMs or wondered where we've been - we're sorry! We didn't disappear, we just had to scramble to fix the problems from our 1Gbps rollout. And now, resources are being reallocated back to where they belong.

We're growing, and there are growing pains, but we are still determined not to join the dark side. For those who're still sticking with us, thanks!! Your support means the world to us. For those who were disappointed and left, we're really sorry and we hope that one day we can win you back. For those who are uncertain how to feel about us, we'll need to prove by our actions that you can trust us. :) :) :)

Sure by pissing a once loyal customer is your way of changing the game. You changed the game 2 years ago. We jumped onto the bandwagon. Now you are even worse than the game you tried to change.

The hardware of a service provider has never been an issue to me. But once the heart and software of a company changed, I will never stay with it again.

I was all excited when they announced the 1GB. However, I decided not to go ahead with it after the initial launch delays and I am truly happy that I did not make the switch. Price is only one factor of consideration however, I think there should be many more when u get yourself to commit to a contract for 2 years.

To me, I brand this company as NATO, no action talk only.

From all the feedback posted, I cannot agree more with the saying "pay peanuts, get monkeys".

Well, you should be, according to my experience. I was supposed to have my upgrade 1GB done a couple of weeks ago. On the day of upgrade, I called them at around 8plus or 9plus to ask "confirm coming down?" The answer was positive. ANd like you, my internet was working when it was supposed to be down but i never thought much of it. I went to work since I only took half day off in the afternoon.

At 10 plus in the office, MR called me and said that the engineers supposed to enter a building to do patching of my system cannot enter cos they have no permission so they have to cancel my installation. I was pissed and asked how could they not have permission? This was one of the most ridiculous reasons I heard. But you think this is ridiculous? Wait till the next reason I heard. So I was not happy and demanded to talk to someone else.

Viola at 11 plus finally, a person called John told me that when I made my order online to upgrade, although it was captured online, it never really was captured because they did some system migration of whatever. I asked then how come when I called twice before the installation date and even on the installation date itself, everyone else is telling me, yes they will come down to install? John told me "oh due to the system migration or whatever, although they see on the main screen, my order is there, actually if they click on my order to go to details, they will see that its actually not captured. So unfortunately, they will have to reschedule my installation at least 14 days later and no promises somemore."

Tell me, how do you make yourself stay with this kind of company when the kind of excuses they give is like the above? If it is a poor connection, I can understand. BUt when a company resorts to such ridiculous excuses to brush a customer away, it lacks integrity, character and honesty. I am never ever paying money to such a dishonest company again

Did MR Field Engineer setup any ASUS N56U router during the installation?
