what is home voice?

Using MR's internet to make incoming/outgoing calls using a normal home phone.

I'm getting so bad service from the connection. Even in local Asiasoft games. Even my Starhub 2mbps had lesser ping.

Is it the router got problem?

Tried doing speedtest to Washington DC for fun and got this result...



Was expecting shitty speed like 3Mbps but got surprised by the result... Maybe because my expectation is low to begin with.

You wouldn't complain if service is running well. It's human nature, ppl are seeking recourse here.

We can only hope MR can help these ppl running into issues.

Installation charges for New Sign Up

Hi everyone,

My SingTel 200MBps Fibre contract is ending soon and I'm keen t I'm keen to try out My Republic for one month. Does anyone know of any promotion where the installation charges can be waived? OR at least deducted form the contract if I do sign up after the 1 month?

We are certainly providing 100%. However if speed is taken over wireless or home plug, it will result in slower speed. When people are happily using the net. They won't be here . We could have set up a private forum and but we choose to remain public because that's the right way to do things.

tudou, yyets, acfun etc.

even 百度影音 also cant get any speed now only 10kb/s (all the while was ok 2-4mb/s)...this is wat bugs me most cuz most of my drama movie all using this

restart ONT restart router all these no need tell me to do cuz i only on comp/ONT/router when i at home, day time at work all off 1, so sure is got restart everyday

The HomeVoice is not working still. I call the Home Voice number and the line gets cut off. This is really terrible. My account is C1005307

Given up on using tuduo and other china streams long ago .
They block foreign ISP and limit our speed(not sure is their side or myrepublic) .

I am more for the idea of china streaming sites and programs limiting and blocking. Cos

-Mainland Chinese heavily depended on internet for TV, the bandwidth is probably allocated to them.
-Those sites and programs all have tons of advertisement (the in-your-face style), and are all targeted at Mainland Chinese, The more bandwidth they allocate to them, the more they watch, the more advertisement, the more revenue for them.
-Subscription fees. If they have paid subscriptions service and promised faster speeds if u subscribe, then those who didn't will of course get lower speeds, some more we are not in China, its even more shittier.

If thats the case then it must be routing and peering. However this is sort of expected since its BIG vs Small.

That does not mean that MR connection is complete garbage. They have their own merits. Like torrenting and the teleport thing especially now its free to use. The 100mbps is actually the cheapest connection u can get for torrent without throttle, when VQ starts at $65

Actually the tudou/youku thing has been around for a long time. No offence but u should have asked before signing up when u wanna use those sites. I will send u a PM on some other alternatives.
