Hi MR, I read that for Bittorrent are treated with "data prioritization system" by your company.

My question is - does this "data prioritization" checks for higher priority applications against the entire MR network in your HQ or checks for usages of video streaming/gaming applications within my neighbourhood??

Please let me know if i am unclear.

Generally across the entire MR network.
Short of hard capping speeds, the most logical method of ensuring users have a good internet experience will be prioritizing protocols like VOIP / streaming / HTTP surfing. p2p usually is on lower priority.

Hope this helps.

In that case I can only pray there are less video streaming/online gaming users. :D

OK, I downloaded the file and the speed peaked at 1.1MB only. Does it mean that my speed got capped?

Not from where I see it on my server logs.... if you can give me a specific time.. I can check my server logs, as it seems my fellow friends in MR are smacking my server to test their data speed...
but it's kind of clogged somewhere... I was churning out 50mbps to you..
use netscape(mozilla) with downthemall...so you know you are hitting me with all available bandwidth possible....

Also..did you test
https://app.netrounds.com/speedtest/bbq/

my advise is ...change the fiber patch cord and it *SHOULD* help/.

if U in sengkang-punggol...let me know....I may have a spare one.

just pulled the file from Azrin's server.
Was pulling it in at an average of 6mb/s ~

but my torrent is having diving and spiking speeds :s13:
X mb/s and drops to 0 and then recovers a few seconds later :s11:

You should try downloading the torrent from sites that do not limit their uploads, like Slackware Linux ISOs.

The less popular torrent: Slackware 14.1 source code DVD ISO (The complete source code tree for both x86 and x86_64)

With ~100 seeders and connected to ~50 of them, I get ~5MBps, in 3 minutes. The more popular x86 DVDISO with 300+ seeders, I get ~6MBps.

If they do not work, something somewhere you had configure wrongly.

I'm on PURE 100, tested the above 10 minutes ago.

Hi MR Staff

Just like to check. If our installation date is after our existing MR contract end date, are we going to pay the normal price till installation date or can we enjoy the new 1GB plan price till our installation date?

Hi jupiter12, if your 2 years contract is up, u will be revert back to the usual price. Your understanding is correct, as you will be paying usual price till 1gbps is installed.

Nah, I tried downloading both the 64 and 32 bits of Ubuntu ISO simultaneously
Speeds were 4-6 Mbps each.
They both dropped to 0 at the same time before picking up like 4-5 times...
I'll do a screen capture and contact their Helpdesk once I am certain that the issue isn't on my side.

6MBps is just about right for my home server

(6*1.024*9) ==59mbps on upload speed.... (gamer is 75mbps upload...)
I still have many other stuff streaming up...so anything above 5MBps is good.

I got the startrek movie for you to try stream or download ...2+GB see if it flux..use DOWNTHEMALL and get max streams...
I'll tell you when I get the new Gigabit service...so U can test out
