hi, can you share ur config for the router?

i just got my ONT installed and Myrepublic connection running, but i can only achieve around 290mpbs to 300mpbs on speedtest.net, all connection are wired, but if i connect directly to the alcatel modem i get around 800 to 850mpbs? so i suspect the issue is with asus router something misconfig.

thanks

There's nothing done other than restore to factory settings after updating the firmware using Merlin's firmware.
And I do a manual reboot of the router after updating :)

what's the purpose of MR's chat support? is it solely for tech inquiry or what?

i'm asking this because i find it odd that they have a "billing" from the drop-down menu and yet, they can't assist.

i asked for assistance from "yoyo" via Chat Spport. I asked if he/she can assist with doing the deduction from their Billing department since i've updated my card info. But instead of helping me, he/she just gave me the email of their Billing department. and that person just gave me this message "we are sorry for the inconvenience you encountered".

There was an issue with some speed cap on Asus routers in the other thread. One workaround was to factory reset the router and try again. Is your router on the latest firmware too?

I'm also using dynamic IP leh.. try installing padavan firmware on your router and see whether it works? Or switch to 5Ghz band if there are too many 2.4Ghz users in your neighborhood.. I'm the only one on 5Ghz at my place so the connection is pretty stable although the signal strength is pretty weak.

I suspect a lot of issues are caused by routing.

The path to the destination and back probably isn't the same. Probably the route back to us is inefficient for certain IP ranges.

Nothing much MR can do apart from getting their partners to change their routing.

This would explain why some users are not affected.

IDK but I know it was okay about ~3 weeks ago and now it's back to being horrible

Hi all..
My starhub 100mb fibre contract ended.
If I were to jump to myrepublic, do I need to chance any hardware (modem, router etc)?
Thanks
