I have verified with MR through their online chat, they have replied that for recontract to 1Gbps ultra the price is still $49.99.
When i asked if i recontract in sept14 (which is when my current contract ends), will the recontract rate of $49.99 still be available, they said yes. It is the benefit of existing customers.

Myrepublic home voice issue

So I PM the nivlek guy on sat and he said he unable to help cause it's weekend, will get into this issue on Monday. So the whole morning not a single update, will u all start doing something then? Or u all gonna wait until 5pm den say 'oh it's after office hour already'? If I don't get the service up how do u expect me to pay the bills for the service then? Maybe it's just my fault cause I made the worst decision in my life to sign up as a myrepublic customer?

hey - same story here - but it seems ur rep is either not inform well or not telling u same story as i was told:
Apparently home voice service is down since 10. july. Only able to make outgoing calls and accept incoming calls from M1 - no other telco. MR say they're working on it...
So if that's the case, then why is this not mention on the "service status" page at all :s11:
MR trying to avoid bad publicity by keeping quiet... not a good sign at all...

I have confirmed this with the sales side and aligned what you mentioned is correct.

For new customer will be based on the new promo, existing customer still can upgrade to the old price plan but we do not know when the management will decide to change it to new price plan. :)

Can I ask if it's still possible to take up the offer for the asus router if my friend didn't ask for it when recontracting? (He's already recontracted 2 months back)

Hi everyone, sorry if there's been confusion over how our new promotional plans work. Here's a clarification:

Our previous $49.99/month 1Gbps plan was originally for the first 10000 customers and yes, we have reached that point. We gathered feedback from customers on pricing to hear suggestions and concerns to plan our new promotion prices.

For New Customers
One thing customers pointed out to us was that they don't mind paying a bit more for the speed, but preferred not to pay large sum of money up front. We discussed it internally, and decided to launch the new promotion at $59.99, but without the $58 installation charge. To sweeten the deal, we also decided to throw in two months free - we're not here to squeeze our customers dry after all.

For Existing Customers
We promised you that $49.99 will be the price you will getting for 1Gbps, and we plan to honour that.

All recontracting customers will still get to sign up for 1Gbps at $49.99 per month (with NO installation charge), or choose 300Mbps at $39.99 per month.

To summarise:

New customers - $59.99 per month for 1Gbps + installation charge waived + 2 months free

Recontracting customers - $49.99 per month for 1Gbps + installation charge waived.

Hope that clears things up! Also note that these rates are for 2 year contracts, and refer mostly to our Ultra plans.

Hi Johnny, does this include those who upgrade to 1Gbps mid way thru the contract? If not have to be clearer abit else might cause some misconception for those who upgrade mid way.

Yes, the $59.99 promo is only for new customers who are currently not with us.
