No idea. The /128 address i got on the WAN interface doesn't really experience this, but the routed /64 have some asymmetric routing issue going on with Hurricane Electric (HE) because Singtel buys IP transit from HE in HK (not in SG) and advertises their customer routes to HE over at HK.

Since IP transit providers will usually prioritise customer routes over routes learned from IX/peers to earn money, incoming traffic from HE will automatically go to HK before coming back to SG via Singtel. Outbound is fine, goes through Equinix IX in SG to HE.

If you can't already tell, I ***** love Singtel 😒

Totally understand your dislike of Singtel. I do not like the routing of Singtel in this case either.

On the other hand, it is not a issue for me so I will most likely continue with Singtel along with Starhub.

Just notice that MyRepublic is another ISP which likes to use TP-Link Service Provider models. I tend to thinkfor MyRepublic subscribers, there is really no reason to go with the EX510, even though it might be a bit better than the Singel issued junk Arcadyan/Askey/Airties routers or Starhub Nokia Beacon 1/2 routers.

In general, it is better to avoid such routers unless you are using Starhub (EB810v) or Singtel (HB810).

TP-Link SIngapore lists the following service provider models.
https://www.tp-link.com/sg/service-provider/wifi-router/

EB810v (Starhub), BE22000
HB810 (Singtel), BE22000
EX1110 (??) -- AXE11000 triband
EX510 (MyRepublic) -- AX3000
HX510 (??) -- AX3000
EX221-G2U (MyRepublic) -- AX3000
EX220 (MyRepublic) -- AX1800

yeah .. never really liked the TP-Link but was only given the option for a TP-Link when they changed my 2Gbps to 10Gbps due to some misinformation.

currently using the BE19000 model and though i prefer Asus, this will do since most of my devices can only support WiFi 6 (and struggling to connect to a 6e connection)

Is the 200Mbps plan no longer available for recontract? Page can only be found when Googled for it but no option to select.

this seems to be different from what was happening before -- that appeared to be congestion on their Equinix IXP links, which I assume was alleviated by perhaps shifting traffic bound for Cloudflare and Microsoft to PNI links. you wouldn't have had latency issues to hosts in MyRepublic's, StarHub's (transit?), or Singtel's (via StarHub) networks

on the other hand, what I saw yesterday (and also on the 28th and 26th) affected everything going through the gateway for my public IP subnet, which is... pretty much everything.

edit: would've looked like this instead (notice that latency doesn't increase for everything)
