I hope they don't change the SH users to M1. I already have other M1 lines. Need a different Telco to diversify in case service disruption happen to one Telco.

Seems like, after the midnight software upgrade for MyRepublic, I'm still on Starhub server (52505).

But still, I'm looking forward to them moving old customers to M1 server (52503). That would enable VoLTE for us. And speeds will be faster on M1.

Is this changing of network without changing sim card technically possible in the first place?

Not sure leh, if they are able to do a workaround without switching SIM, that would be great.

But even if need to replace the SIM, I was wondering how they communicate this to existing customers like us. People would question why a need to switch SIM and the reasons. And there will be few people who prefer to be using SH network for various reasons.

Lastly, they could go both ways, using both SH and M1.

Fully agreed with you. As for MR using both SH and M1, many overseas MVNO do have multiple MNO providers. But for MR, from 31 March, it is offering plans only using M1 network. This means MR customers using Starhub network will not increase further, zero growth, only decrease down the road, and for MR to continue wholesale bandwidth purchase from Starhub, seems unlikely to me. Hence its likely MR will migrate customers using Starhub network to M1. I guessing only.

Sooner or later they will migrate us out to M1.

Other countries MVNO do use 2 telcos network before?

Yes, some overseas MVNO even offer different mobile plans run by 3 or more MNO networks. MR no more offer mobile plans under SH, so its likely SH-MR partnership contract not renew anymore.

Must have underlying conditions on why MR switched to M1.

Might be the quality of the network or the price. Circles.life doing well with M1. There is another upcoming MVNO also using M1.
