Thanks. So you mean, I can let's say sign up a new line with a random number first, use it temporary. When the other Telco contract is up, I request number change+porting from Myrepublic?

Yes should be this way.

Please note do NOT do any termination at the other Telco (M1).

Once porting & change number is successful, you may have to wait for M1 letter to inform you on the termination and bills.
If you have any access amount in your favour M1 will send you letter to inform you on the procedure to claim the excess money, if any.

Yes you can delay to port-in mobile number from another Telco.

This is Number Change Request fee $32.10 while not terminating the line at M1.
It is a combination of both Porting and Number Change request as it have to be done at the same time.

When the existing M1 mobile contract expired, just go to the Telco (MyRrepublic) and do the porting & number change request together.

For existing mobile contract termination it is based on the number of months balance as not the full termination cost.

Change of number for M1 refers to a whole new number in M1 number range. That one is chargeable, to cover the cost of acquiring the block of mobile number from IMDA, and also the lost revenue as your old number couldn't be recycled till months or years later.

But porting in does cost anything to the customer, because to them, they've secured you for good. It doesn't cost them (or maybe negligible cost) for the porting, and no cost of acquisition from the authority.

For MyRepublic on services available > Mobile Service One-Time Charge
The Number Change Request stated.

Change of mobile number do allow for porting of another Telco mobile number.
It is Porting + Number Change request done at the same time.
This is NOT to be done separately.

Since porting is to retain number it is also can transfer to another mobile number as in Change Number on existing mobile line.
As porting do not necessary mean to port to another Telco as new subscriber.
What if i do not like the existing pool of number, which is very restricted.

Hence this is by porting another mobile number (from another Telco) to your existing mobile number while contract/plan remain in force, no change.
In short, Change Number from other Telco mobile number instead from the pool available.
All Telco have this option as implemented by IMDA on Porting matter.

Do note it has to be different Telco, not within the same Telco.
If you have 2 mobile lines with the same Telco, the mobile numbers cannot be swap around.

Do note that both Telco mobile lines must be of the SAME Subscriber, else required to Change of ownership.

I am doing this Porting + Change Number for mobile for several times as there is no issue as to by paying for Change of Number fees $32.10 applicable.
but have you done this for myrepublic uno plan yet? if not not accurate. they can always taichi because their terms say clearly have to port in on registration

Ok had chat with their CS.

The point is that their mobile plan have no contract.
That's you are free to terminate and sign-up again.

If you want to change the mobile number, not from their pool, then you have to terminate and then port-in to sign-up.
Since there is no contract and no penalty in terminating and sign-up again.

MR method is the same method as Prepaid where you need to purchase another Prepaid SIM to change/port-in the mobile number.

Meaning MR postpaid is following the concept of Prepaid in doing things.

Whereas other Telco do have contract which there is a penalty if by following MR method.
Hence other Telco may allow to port-in to change number.

Thanks. Then this is more logical. Hence, I guess I can't port-in later just to ensure I get the UNO plan deal.

are you porting over from another operator ? Once you received your SIM, your login details will be sent to you a few hours after ' activation'

I found that logging out and back in also gets your profile page up very quickly.

Well it's not all that bad. Just that u will still need to reapply for another sim card if you already have that plan in another number.

MyRepublic Mobile throttled data rate

MyRepublic Mobile throttled data rate is about 0.3 Mbps downlink and 0.02 uplink, at home or work. This is not pleasantly usable and I get disconnected at times. Thinking of moving back to Zero1 where I can get 1Mbps up/down most of the time.:s22:

1mbps throttle is not in contract, can change any time. for $2 more than z1 you can get 7gb of fast data on myrepublic fyi ($8 + 12 + 12). that's more than double and you can even time the boosts.
