Read the room. This is an unprecedented disaster.
If China is already sending top-notched rescuers on site, ground excavation machines, live monitoring with images, why are you requoting BBC/CNN/Guardian/CNBC anti-China propaganda? If you don't have access to Chinese social media inside their Great Firewall, then shut up about their social media and just donate money to the victims.
Your nitpicking behaviour is a disgrace to all Singaporeans.
u mean this 6-7 PRC rescue superhero team that took 54 hrs to reach with abilities to detect lives with just bare hands and sticks r doing meaningless things scouring the valley port?
Gosh, this is so wrong of you, someone behind a keyboard, to criticise a rescue worker of a disaster.. any rescue worker..
Don't you have basic empathy of how difficult other people's job is?
Boo![]()
well it takes another person sitting behind keyboard to question another. ur empathy is with the families or the defending the official narratives? families of the missing want survivors and the dead recovered as quickly as possible. i prefer to question whether the response is as fast and effective. u obviously belong to the latter
Then again. This is more of an opinion than news. This is why I don't use Instagram as sole source of news. Need secondary supporting sources.
X is better. Also have Grok AI to fact-check.
Agreed. Going higher round is the safest way. Have seen a few video of the immigration port area. If i am at that border for the first time and suddenly alarm sound off saying run run, looking at the surrounding area, i also dunno where to run to. Most of the surrounding area at CN end has this retaining wall structure (like a SOC low wall). Only saw this small opening at the corner from the drone shot video. Likely this goes up to where the CCTV was being placed. I guess the people see in the video are running because they hear very loud rumbling sound coming in.Think go to higher ground practical sense should be abandon all transports and climb the hill slope as fast as possible. Take the shortest and fastest way to higher ground, to gain as much height in the shortest of time.
Probably not wise to take the road also. For water take the easier path that is the road downhill. Hard to outrun the water also. And the road likely would be choked also, by other vehicles trying to escape the same.
Saw one of the video few vehicles trying to escape from riverside, at the T-intersection where the road turn uphill and downhill, the first vehicle took the uphill route only to almost immediately face the full force of the flood few seconds later.
The other vehicles behind saw the first vehicle turned uphill at first stopped and hesistated, thinking whether to follow or not. By the time the first vehicle realised the mistake saw the water coming and try to back out, it was already too late, as the rest of the vehicles behind blocked the path liao. Think end up all went under the water.
As for the border, abit confused what was CN side thinking. For the initial video showed the people scrambling to safety before the flood hit. Meaning they knew of the incoming (not sure how much time they have as the video started only from the 30s mark before the flood hit and the people were already running then).
So, can't helped wonder how much or any warning have they gave to the rest upstream or downstream before being hit by the full force of the mud and debris flood.
Anyway, think CN most of the casualties would be at the border and the immediate area surrounding the border. The border was at the T-intersection where the flood go uphill is CN, downhill is NP. The force of the water might have force some water uphill to CN side, but most of it still would go downhill to NP.
Think at least got few hundreds people at the border and immediate area bah. CN most of the rescue effort seems concentrated there, no town or village seems affected on CN side, only the border area.
And given the photos shown, the area all covered under mud and debris liao. And it being the first point of impact of the water coming down before made a turn for much of NP downstream. Likely most of the few hundreds people on CN side hard to survive bah. Now is only to recover and identify.

here we go, so u agree shouting and expecting a response from the dead people under the mud in this area is pure theatrics? better than certain guy tryting here to convince people that he has empathy oozing out from the screen he is behindVillage buildings are down there. They pre-located all the villages from the satellite and rush down to rescue alredi, what u want them to do wor, yes below the mud is the buried village.
Not much they can do, heavy life detection or saving equipment is not practical anymore and can't be transported or utilized in this kind of landscape.
