There shouldn't be any doubt that china is downplaying the event. This is just like wuhan virus, did anyone in the world trust china offical account of the virus outbreak? Ccp china has always down playing any major disaster to prevent public panic and cover up any accountability of their failure related to the event.

There is logical reason for people like forum users here to be interested in the numbers of victims in this flood, this is a natural disaster. People who are not at site need tangible account like the number of victims to know the scale of the flood. Don't know why got people get upset at people asking for creditable numbers.

its like a real-time mirror now with nepal displaying their mobilization, information sharing and rescue efforts performed on a large scale compared to prchina. previous flood disasters inside mainland china nothing to compare against they controlled the narratives completely

The missing Singaporean Estee Loeh is a solo traveler, not with any tour group. She got register with MFA, so that's likely why her name is under the Singapore High Commission in the list released by the Nepal tourism board.

If China is already sending top-notched rescuers on site, ground excavation machines, live monitoring with images, why are you requoting BBC/CNN/Guardian/CNBC anti-China propaganda? I rather have the 500 missing people be classified as missing while keep searching for any survivors then all classified dead. If classified dead means no need to search already, can redirect manpower and resources elsewhere to next priority item.
