So easy? Where to drop off safely and avoid getting stuck in the mud? If a secondary flood comes, any place for rescuers to escape? If they find survivors, how to get them out of there? There's no route out if you don't make a route in. 🤷‍♂️
Helicopter can hover and helivac no need to land... Fyi

Moi thought the rescue work at Tibet is too slow. The golden window will be over soon. At first moi thought they will be highly efficient seeing how sophisticated their operation readiness is 🫩.. But seems like Nepal side is winning after they get in all the foreign help. Why Tibet don’t allow foreign help? Use air transport to reach those hardest hit area isn’t it more faster?? They are wasting time 😩…

in the end, all the missing sinkies not found? Sg Govt should send in relief troops as well

basic general knowledge ;)

Getting into a boat moving in coordination with the chopper is not the same as dropping rescuers into unknown ground conditions? Choppers are already used to drop off supplies in the specified zone. I would defer to the actual rescuers to have the expert knowledge on what to do instead of being an armchair critic here.

According to media the glacier has a width of 600m, dropping about 3,300 metres in elevation and travel 20km before hitting the port. The energy is so concentrated and it snowball in the deep V or U valley until it hit the immigration port (T junction).

Efforts more upstream and around the border building are going to be recovery. Satellite imagery, drone overflight would be able to provide a good first assessment. Capabilities well within the Chinese military. FLIR equipped aircraft could pick out survivors on higher ground, if there are any. Whether or not China has these aircraft in theatre is unknown. Given the sheer volume of water running through the narrower valleys, the outcome is a forgone conclusion. Just a matter of when the Chinese is prepared to call it a recovery effort.

Further downstream where my the valley opens up, the water can spread out and there was also time for people to run to higher ground. Rescue is more probable here. Helicopters would be useful here but there must first be helicopters available and I doubt Nepal has them in enough numbers. Hopefully Nepal would accept more foreign assistance.

Don't ask me. I never mention any of those things. You should ask SCDF.

im referring to china rescue efforts...

You said in your own post "this is for our future"? Then post robots in China. What are you talking about? Are you from China or Singapore?

Whether the relevant department has procured such robots and are they are deemed to be suitable for such search and rescue operations I won't know. Ask me for what? I defer to the professionals doing the actual rescue work. How is it related to helicopter rescue operations anyway? :s22:
