Two Singaporeans from a tour group of 47 are reportedly missing, according to AFP, citing tour operator Himalayan Glacier.

Nepalese authorities said more than 400 foreigners were among 579 tourists missing, and expect the death toll to rise.

The disaster unfolded on Wednesday (Aug 26) after a huge mass of rock, snow and ice appeared to collapse into a river near the border, unleashing a torrent of mud and debris downstream.

There were some speculations that an earthquake and rain caused a huge glacial ice berg to drop and dam up a lot of water.

Then when the ice berg reached its limit, the water broke through and flooded the entire valley.....
