I just upgraded to M1 6Gbps plan. I got the TP-Link Archer BE805 router.

This is the fastest Wifi7 speed tested on my Xiaomi 14T Pro. 2m from the router.

This is cable speed on my PC via 2.5Gbps port.

After some initial testing, the TP-Link Archer BE805 router is faster in top speed but in terms of coverage, my old Xiaomi AX3600 is still better.

hi xiaofan@
how to get the offer - M1 6Gbps recontract offer --> S$15 OFF for M1 6Gbps as i am eligible for recontract? I noticed this message - "Note: If you plan to move your address by June 2025, we recommend signing up for our 1Gbps or 2.5Gbps plans." Since both addresses (I verified the coverage) support the higher speeds, would there be any challenges? I am thinking if I should recontract now if I get the S$15 OFF or wait till May, relocate and recontract from the new address.
If you're planning a move, I recommend waiting until your new home is ready. In my previous move, I incurred costs for activating service at my new address, which was essentially the same as signing up for new fiber service while simultaneously moving service at my old address.

Not sure now if there are such cost. Just fyi

Very nice WiFi 7 speed.

TP-Link Archer BE805 is using MediaTek Filogic 880 chipset, so you need to use MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset based WiFi 7 mobile phone to get even higher speed.

The record WiFi speed in this forum is by jasonho using Archer BE805 + Oppo Find X8 Pro.
https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/threads/wifi-7-device-speedtest-and-wifi-7-adapters.7048233/

As for wireless coverage, your Xiaomi AX3600 is probably the CN version or using the CN FW, with TX power greater than the limit allowed by IMDA Singapore, so in reality you can not compare.

This speed is more than enough. I just got the Xiaomi 14T Pro, will not be changing phone anytime soon.

I have passed the phase of benchmarking. Just sharing information purpose only.

Oic. Does that mean that the Xiaomi BE7000 is as powerful or more powerful than the AX3600? But the Xiaomi BE7000 only has 2.5Gbps port. Any Xiaomi router has 10Gbps port?

Indeed no point to chase WiFi speed beyond 4Gbps (or even 2.5Gbps). It is more for fun.

Xiaomi BE7000 has a very powerful CPU (Qualcomm IPQ9554) and Docker support. But hard to say whether it has better wireless coverage than Xiaomi AX3600 or not.

The only 10G capable offering from Xiaomi is Xiaomi BE10000, one 10G RJ45 port, one 10G SFP+ port, quad 2.5G ports, triband BE10000 (2.4GHz band, 5GHz-1 and 5GHz-2 band), top of the line Qualcomm IPQ9570 CPU, 2GB RAM, Docker function. As per the test from ZhiDian, signal quality is very good. It is more expensive though at about RMB1599 from Xiaomi China.

@Apex,
I checked with them and they mentioned its only the moving charges of 61$ as long as the new address is high speed ready. I didn't want to remain on 1 gbps for 4-6 months and hence recontracted

If you're planning a move, I recommend waiting until your new home is ready. In my previous move, I incurred costs for activating service at my new address, which was essentially the same as signing up for new fiber service while simultaneously moving service at my old address.

Dear all

I am currently living in a 5rm HDB flat (121 sqm). My current internet set up is using M1 1Gbps with Netgear Orbi RB20 and 2 Orbi satellites. Currently Ethernet cable in my house is Cat6. The wifi coverage in my house is good currently.

I am planning to renew my plan to the M1 6Gbps plan. The plan will include a free Archer BE805 router. Can anyone advise the below questions?

1. How do I prepare my house for this new plan? Do I need to change the Ethernet cable to better ones?
2. Can I still use my existing Orbi mesh for this new plan?
3. Can my current orbi mesh be used together with the new BE805 router?
4. Is the BE805 router better than the Asus BT10? Or should I pay more to get the Asus BT10?
5. Currently, in the market, what is a good Mesh device? Last time I heard Netgear Orbi is a good mesh system. Can let me know if Netgear is still top in the mesh market?
6. I can choose either Starhub 5Gbps plan or M1 6Gbps plan. which one is better?

Thanks so much

1) CAT6 is fine. It is rated for 10Gbps up to 55 meters, no need to change.

2) and 3)
Yes but you need two wireless networks, one with the new Archer BE805 (or the new Asus ZenWiFi BT10), and the other with your existing Orbi RB20 mesh. They are not compatible in terms of mesh technology.

4) As a single router, Archer BE805 has a better coverage than single ZenWiFi BT10. As a mesh solution, ZenWiFi BT10 two pack using Asus AImesh mesh technology is better than Archer BE805 * 2 units with TP-Link EasyMesh mesh technology.

5) Netgear Orbi is probably still the best among consumer mesh solutions if you are willing to pay for it.

Netgear Orbi > TP-Link Deco = Asus AImesh > TP-Link EasyMesh.

6) Up to you. Since you are currently with M1, try to get the M1 6Gbps recontract offer (S$32.90 per month with free Archer BE805) and stay with M1.

If you decide to use Asus AImesh and ditch the old Netgear Orbi RB20, then top-up for the Asus ZenWiFi BT10 two-pack (S$44.90 per month).

If you want to go for Netgear Orbi mesh solution (the super expensive Orbi 970 or the less expensive Orbi 770), then either option is okay as you can sell the Archer BE805 or Asus ZenWiFi two-pack.

Thanks so much for the detailed reply. :)

For #3, what do you mean by 2 wireless network? Do you mean sign up for 2 broadband subscription?

Also, if I want to use existing orbi mesh with Archer or BT10, will it cause disruption in connection if i move from area to area? is it better to just stick with only one setup (Archer and BT10) and get rid of the Orbi? Thanks

I mean they are not compatible with each other in terms of mesh technology. So you need to use different SSIDs.

So, yes I will say to get rid of the Orbi (or used as backup) in this case.

Hi guys, anyone on MR's 10 Gb/s plan?
Is it just me or the bandwidth is throttled to 3Gb/s at night (during 2300H till early morning) Speed resumes back to normal during the day ~7AM onwards.

Hi Xiaofan, i was reading around and i realised for easymesh. If i use BE230 as main node and another one as the satellite, the satellite cannot broadcast the 2.4ghz and 5ghz signals?

that means i might get lousy signals for these 2 wavelength in my rooms? Isnt this a downgrade since not every device is wifi 6e ready? I dont experience this problem with my current asus setup on aimesh

From another user who posted in this forum. Tsammyc or something like that

I believe you read wrongly of what @tsammyc has said. I believe you are referring to the following post, right? The post only talks about IoT or Guest Network. Nothing to do with the main wireless network (2.4GHz and 5GHz).

Maybe @tsammyc can help to explain to you how things work since he has the Archer BE230 mesh.

Reference:
https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/threads/tp-link-hb810-be22000-wifi-7-router-users.7003498/page-11

I noticed you have an issue with the 2.4Ghz band. I have a lot of IoT devices that I do not want on the main network and Easymesh does not extend the IoT or Guest networks so my IoT devices far away from the main router have a very weak signal. There is no solution using Easymesh, so I have a separate $20 Xiaomi range extender just to extend the 2.4Ghz band. No doubt the speed by the time to repeat the 2.4Ghz signal is 5-10Mbps, but it's good enough for IoT devices.

Yes this is the post. Sorry i am very new to this so i got confused by all the info.

can i ask, for BE230 as it is broadcasting on the 5ghz band still but at up to 2.5gbps. Does that mean normal device with wifi 6 cards can benefit from the increased speed too as they can see the band like the 5ghz on 1gbps routers?

Yes, it will help, but the max speed may be at about 1.6Gbps to 1.8Gbps for good WiFi 6 device and 1.6Gbps to 2Gbps with decent WiFi 7 devices, on the 5GHz band.

The 2.5G WAN/LAN ports of the Archer BE230 help the WiFi 6/7 client to break 1Gbps barrier for Internet/Local WiFi speed.

Older Archer AX72 is also a good router, but internet/local WiFi speed will be limited by the 1Gbps capable only WAN/LAN ports.

Hi everyone

I currently have zenwifi AC3000 and zenwifi BT10. I would like to ask if it is possible to connect these 2 different sets together under the same SSID?
If so, do we just use the Asus app to connect them?

thanks
