Nice, so you are able to sell two units of Asus ZenWiFi BT10 at S$800 (or a bit more). Nice to hear that.

There are a few people in this thread who are worried to get lower offering for Asus ZenWiFi BT10 that expected (say two units at S$800 or one unit at S$400).

I tend to think the price may drop in the future, but right now it should be okay. After all, the list price from Asus is at S$1299 for two units and S$699 for single unit.

M1 6Gbps at S$59.90 per month with two ZenWiFi BT10.
Selling two units and get back S$800 --> effective no-frills 6Gbps plan is at S$26.56 per month.
Selling two units and get back S$720 (if price drop in the future) --> effective no-frills 6Gbps plan is at S$29.90 per month.

Both are still not bad offer compared to Starhub 5Gbps special offer at S$29.55 per month (ONT option). Take note Starhub digital voice is not free at S$2.14 per month.

Any idea would it be easy to sell 2 units of Asus BT10 for $800?

From what I read it should not be difficult now. The price may go down soon though since M1 is selling two units of ZenWiFi BT10 for existing users at a very good price as per the report (PWP at S$21 x 24 = S$504, or SS252 per unit).

BTW, now you may also be able sell one unit by one unit to get a bit higher cost.

One example from yesterday.

I just upgraded my M1 500mbps plan to 6Gbps plan.

Currently, M1 website will still show that my area is not ready for XGS PON plan. Like others had mentioned, M1 allows their existing customer to upgrade (if ready) and not for new subscriber.

My suggestion is go to M1 website, select the XGS PON plan and click on existing to recontract. U need your M1 ID to login and if your area is already ready, M1 will allow us to upgrade.

My M1 6Gbps plan after selling off the Asus BT10 mesh (in a pair), my 2 yrs plan will cost only ard $26+++ per month vs my 500Mbps will cost $30+ per month.

For me I don't need the BT10 mesh as I had my own Omada router, switches and APs...

The caveat is that M1 6Gbps plan, not everyone can sign up for. I know some here somehow managed to sign up, but I tried as an existing m1 user and cannot.

I’m paying $40+ for 1Gbps. If can sell Asus BT10 for $800, i am thinking to recontract to 6Gbps and topup $12/mth for Asus BT10.

Yes managed to do that.

The good thing is that M1 still comes with digital voice FOC and a quite useless 500m data Sim.

I'm starting to see more n more ppl offloading their BT10 on carousell too.

Thanks for suggestion but my existing contract with M1 already ended, so they classify me as existing customer with no contract hence still subjected to the 'Area not ready' restriction. I'd prefer to stick to m1 actually, less hassle. Congrats on your good deal!

Hence, i'm sort of shoved to either Starhub/Singtel now. Currently more inclined to Singtel 5Gbps with TP-Link BE22000 WiFi 7 Router since at least the router is decent
if anyone has any more comments, please do share :)
Did U receive any email in Dec from M1 saying they are doing some network maintenance and the line will be down for a few hrs etc...

I guess if u received this maintenance email means your area is likely being upgraded to XGS PON. If not, just give M1 a few more months I guess.

IMHO no point to go with Singtel because of the use of ONR.

If you cannot get M1 6Gbps offer, Starhub 5Gbps special offer ONT option at S$29.55 per month will be better than Singtel 5Gbps plan. You can get EB810v at S$360 or HB710 at S$192 from Starhub to go with the ONT (10G capable WiFi 7 router).

EB810v > HB810 > HB710.

More info about the Starhub 5Gbps special offer at S$29.55 per month links: just read the first page.

If you have further questions, go to the Starhub 5Gbps thread.

The issue reported in this forum are all about speed degradation for Marvell chipset based 10G NICs (PCI-E or TB3 version). Some users can resolve the issue by disabling Antivirus programs. Some users say re-installing Windows can sort out the issue. Some users are not able to sort out the issue.

You can try the work-around to see if it helps you or not (eg: remove 3rd party antivirus programs).

I think Asus has no capability to sort out the issue. Marvell is the one which can do the driver development.

Intel X540 NICs can be bought at about S$30 to S$50 from Taobao.
Intel X550 NICs can be bought at about S$100 to S$150 from Taobao.

Hi xiaofan, just wanted to update you that I got an Intel X550-T2 from China, and it does look like a genuine used item on a Dell rig previously, made in Malaysia.

Unfortunately the card only worked with my x4 riser cable (Asus 10Gbe card had no issues) on 2019 drivers. Updating to the latest 2024 drivers rendered the X550-T2 inoperable. It could be the riser cable or it could be compatibility with my motherboard or PCI-E slot. On 2019 drivers, the speed was terrible and I barely got 3Gbps (duplex setting set at 10Gbps), versus the 6Gbps from Asus, on the same riser cable.

Just a warning to those that may be looking at the Intel cards.

Try to update to the latest firmware first (if it is not), and get the latest drivers from Intel site.

How did you update the drivers for X550? I tried using device manager and driver unable to work. Need to use the setup to install then can use.

Recommendations for Backup ISP for MyRepublic 10Gb Gamer

Hi, I'm currently using a 2 x 1Gb Gamer setup with dedicated IPs from MyRepublic, and my contract is expiring soon. I'm looking to upgrade to MyRepublic's 10Gb Gamer with a dedicated IP to avoid CGNAT and use an ONT. I also want a second line for redundancy and secondary data.

Ideally, I'd prefer an ISP that doesn't use the same infrastructure as MyRepublic and avoids CGNAT/ONR, but it's not a deal-breaker. I'm using a UniFi Dream Machine Pro Max with 1 x 10Gb and 1 x 2.5Gb WAN ports, so the second line would max out at 2.5Gb.

Does this make sense?

Any recommendations for a suitable backup ISP?

Thanks!

M1 if your locations is available for 3Gbps plan, otherwise, since non-deal breaker will be Starhub 5Gbps @ $29.55.

MR 3Gbps/10Gbps and Starhub 3Gbps/5Gbps/10Gbps will share the same infrastructure eventually as per the reports. So it is better to avoid Starhub.

Other than that, other ISPs should be fine as backup, for example, M1 2.5Gbps or M1 3Gbps.

Try to update to the latest firmware first (if it is not), and get the latest drivers from Intel site.

Already returned the card to the Shopee seller. Latest drivers from Intel site didn't work, tried the Intel driver assistant utility (removed previous drivers first) and update kept failing, basically updated but causes the card to be unrecognised.

I don't think a firmware update is supposed to be needed to update the drivers? Either way I don't have the card anymore so can't try that now.

Intel website the driver is an exe installer I think. Didn't work for me. I also tried using device manager to update and point to the folder, didn't work. Or use the Intel driver assistant to do, also didn't work.

I wiped the new drivers and Windows automatically installed the 2019 drivers and it worked on those.

Could be a partially faulty card by the sounds of it, especially if the firmware update tool didn't work.

Recently, I got a X550-T2 from 10Gtek TB store for the 10G SH plan.

I updated the driver from 10Gtek (found in this thread) and it has been performing as expected; ~8000+ DL and ~7000+ UL respectively.

Doing some Speedtest over the weekend, I started to experienced inconsistency in DL. The DL could range from as low as 2000+ to 6000+, alternating every consecutive tests. The tests were done one after another. The performance is back to normal when I either restart the computer or start the Speedtest after few minutes, but the issue repeats again during the next consecutive tests. Windows 11 is up to date. But when I checked the X550 driver details in the Control Panel’s System tab, it indicated an outdated date, which I’m positive the the driver was installed correctly back then. The issue persisted despite I installed the new X550 driver from Intel and done a cable check by replacing and re-seating It.

When I repeat the test on my Mac with a 10G adapter, it doesn’t exhibit this. Hence, the issue is restricted to my Windows only. What is the possibly cause of It?
