I'm using U/UTP CAT 6a round LAN cables. For S/FTP I'm not sure what's the thinnest round LAN cable

Anything thicker will have slight difficulty in running.

See the yellow and white cables I'm holding. Both are CAT 6a U/UTP. The white is much thicker than the 6mm yellow one. My 10Gbps main cable from the router to my desk is using the white one. Lucky the thicker white cable can go below the front room door. Some difficulty to run since I custom-made it first

Running below the front room door

How noisy do you find the TL-SX1008?

I'm in the front room and the switch is in the hall so it doesn't affect me

The fan inside the switch is 24 hrs running. If I'm at 1 foot from the switch I can hear a very low fan whirling noise. My load on the switch is very low so noise is low at the moment.

The Aug 2022 update doesn't inspire any confidence :s13:

On the article the poster also mentioned that some ports on the switch also died. Reddit users and TP-LINK community also has this issue of dead ports without fan modification. Could be quality issue with the switch

There's also another procedure here which works

The switch (and other similar switches from TP-LINK) has no raised feet. Do NOT allow the switch to sit flat on the surface. So I bought some cheap raise foots and raise the switch higher for better ventilation like below

Since use switch the speed will be shared among all the devices.

Can use 10 + 10 so one for shared devices through a switch and one dedicated 10 line lor. Wait for router with enough 10Gbps ports ah......2x10Gbps input ports and 2x10Gbps output ports

There are quite a few 10G or multi-G consumer class switches in the market. Not really cheap and yet not really lasting too. Furthermore, most do not even come with management since their target audience are mainly home consumers. Most also run really hot with noisy and subpar fans. I bought one desktop switch from Net**** few years back when I started my 10G home project. Ports started dying less than a year. Did not wanna spend too much on an enterprise switch, so bite the bullet and tried M brand. Grind through ROS, never looked back. Not the most intuitive interface, but I do like the fact that I can set everything up using CLI like an old Cisco style switch. Enterprise class switch at a reasonable price.

Using the superadmin login to SH Nokia ONR, I got bridging to work. Not sure how long before they TR-069 me to revert it back. Although I can turn TR-069 off in the settings as well.

I also do notice my throughput dropping every now and then. Not sure if it's bridging or the instability of the ONR or the PON itself. Or if they're throttling me for using a different MAC to request DHCP.

PS: sorry I won't be sharing a guide as it's somehow undocumented and not everyone would get their superadmin passwords.

This is great news. How did you convince SH to let you have the superadmin password? Apparently it's unique to each Nokia ONR, based on the serial number?

they have to generate per activation and it's not given outright to the hubtrooper until they start the installation.
