Interesting that you mention that Singtel HB810 has SpeedTest function, where do you see the info? Thanks. I was under the impression that EB810v and HB810 are too customized so that they may lose quite some features of the normal Archer WiFi 7 routers like Archer BE800.

What about TP-Link Archer BE805 for MR users? -- hopefully MR BE805 users can chime in and reply.

As for VLAN 1091, it may still be useful for those who use Starhub TV+ Box -- probably more priority than if you do not use VLAN 1091. Not so sure about this.
I checked. TP-Link Archer BE805 does not have speedtest function built in.

I actually feedback to Chrome and they actually updated the chrome browser. Now i can get 5+ Gbps.

@Henry Ng

So you are using the Starhub link and get 5+ Gbps using Chrome Browser.
https://resi10g.speedtest.starhub.com/10G

But if you use OOkla SpeedTest desktop app, you get 8.2Gbps, right?

So far I only see the 8.2Gbps Starhub link result from @Apparatus.

When i use this link to do the speed test, it asked me to down load the app to do the speed test and not using browser to test. I also getting 8.2 Gbps as my processor is not strong enough as i am using a laptop.

When using the link i got 8.2 Gbps and it is using app too. Speed test.net app also 8.2 Gbps. When i use the updated chrome to go to speedtest.net to do speed test, i got 5+ Gbps. Earlier i got only 4.5 Gbps using chrome.

So basically you are saying the Starhub browser link is probably just a wrapper of the OOkla SpeedTest desktop app. Now it is clear to me. Thanks.

Your laptop is already pretty good when you get 5+ Gbps from the OOkla SpeedTest website using Chrome browser.

I decided to get tx401. Gonna retire my sound blaster z

That is probably the way to go.

Once you get 10Gbps plan, eventually you will get at least one 10G cleint device.
Then you may get more 10G capable devices and may need a 10G switch. :)

Interestingly MR official Shopee store is also selling TP-Link TX401 but at a higher price of S$174 than other local distributors (around S$149), from a quick search (but I am not good at looking for lobangs).

I saw it from a screenshot here. But I haven't tried to set it to AP mode to see if I can get the same speedtest. I suspect not...

Thanks.

The HB810 built-in SpeedTest is actually very decent. By right the CPU in the EB810v should be the same as HB810 and then the speedtest result will be similar if there is such utility. Most like the CPU is the sae as Archer BE800 (Qualcomm Networking Pro 1220 ARM Cortex A73 quad-core processor at 2.2GHz, IPQ9574)

Using Speedtest app with my TX401, I am getting only 3Gbps download but 7.5Gbps upload. Any idea why? I flashed the latest Marvell firmware already and updated drivers...

Could be windows being weird again.

Maybe live boot a linux distro and try the speedtest there?

@Apparatus had the same problem and he resolved it by reinstalling windows.

That is interesting. I tend to think Apple usually has good built-in driver support for Apple's own hardware.

Did you try different SpeedTest servers like SingTel using OOkla SeppedTest app for macOS?

I am using Mac Mini M1 2020 model now with gigabit Ethernet (previously Mac Mini 2011 model). But my next Mac purchase will most likely be another Mac Mini model with 10G Ethernet when I want to subscribe to 10Gbps plan a few years down the road.

It is said that M1 Mac Mini uses the Marvell AQC113 PCIe 4.0 10GbE controller for the optional 10GbE network adapter. M2 Mac Mini is likely to use the same or similar chipset.
