Hmmm I am an existing Starhub EPL subscriber, watching Starhub TV+app on my Nvidia Shield. I don't need any new TV box or router.

The staff was aware of this (passed him my nric) but insisted it won't be setup on time for F1 for the next two weeks.

Why like this ah???

If really can activate the TV plan on the spot, I will go down again (nearest Starhub for me is quite far at Westgate) these few days and try to catch my F1 this Sunday.
Just go to the shop to sign tonight.

Lucky for you then.

My DL forever 3.5K to 4.5K ish, only upload consistently 7.5K ish. Granted i am using the lousy tp link axe300 router. not sure if i get better speed directly plug to onr but then again i need wifi for my other device so :<
You can use the ONR as router and its wifi speed and coverage OK. SH told me it is high internet traffic causing internet congestion so I think it is OK. Just wait for ISPs to upgrade and I guess ISP already order their equipment and it should not take long for them to upgrade. I am guessing I think Dec. Just wait and see. I just heard that our total availability bandwidth in Sg is all the ISP in Sg including 5g bandwidth. All sharing speed indirectly. Peering partners include other ISPs.

Hi, I'm interested to signup for 10Gbps Starhub plan. I seldom watch sports. Is it more value to go for Homehub+ Ultraspeed bundles than the usual 10Gbps plan? Can Homehub bundle top up with additional router for mesh? Thanks in advance

It is ok as long as you do watch the other TV shows and Netflix Premium etc. yes another router will cost $360.

So overall the cost is lower with Homehub bundle? I wonder what's the catch. Is there an option to add extra router by signing up online?

I just hope the Govt will further upgrade to 25 Gbps (for another 500,000 households) in the near future to further expand our capacity and increase our overall bandwidth available.

I am currently on Starhub 1Gbps plan, and my home network is set up using Ubiquiti with UDM Pro as my router. Just called Starhub to enquire about upgrading to 5Gbps or 10 Gbps and the customer service guy said I must use their provided router with no option not to use it. Is this a Starhub only issue? Can I use my current network setup without having to use Starhub or any other ISP's router?

Yes you can use your UDM Pro.
1) 5Gbps plan: go to Starhub shop and request to go with the ONT option.

2) 10Gbps plan: same, request for the ONT option.

Take note those options with EB810v will come with ONT, but I guess you do not want the EB810v, right?

Thank you for your quick response! Yes I don't want the EB810v - I just want to use back my current network setup with no/minimal fuss. It's all wired into my house during renovations including my Unifi APs in the ceiling (which I will upgrade to WiFi 7 model soon). I assume currently I'm already using their ONT which is not compatible with 5/10 Gbps that's why they say I must use their new one?

Yes you have to get new XGS-PON ONT.

Old GPON ONT will not work for 5Gbps/10Gbps plans.

Just an update, I decided to go with the 5Gbps/10Gbps game as well so that I can also carry out OOkla Speedtest and show high speed. LOL.

Singtel 5Gbps Enhanced Plan with WiFi 6 Router at $49.90/mth (U.P. $95.90/mth)
Comes with XGS-PON Optical Network Router + 1 unit of Singtel AX5400 device

Need to have two appointment now.
1) NLT -- this is pretty fast, 5 August 2024
2) Singtel -- this really takes time, the appointment will be on 28 August 2024. [Edit: improved to 12 August 2024].

There is a risk though -- if I can not get the ZTE ONR bridging working, then I am stuck with the ONR for two years. But I tend to think it is worth taking the risks with the report of the following thread -- bridging does not seem to be too difficult (but there is a report that bridging may not work now).
https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/threads/singtel-10gbps-zte-f8648p-superadmin-password.6946718/

Intended setup (no matter bridging is successful or not).
Bridging is ok --> good, no Double NAT
Bridging is not ok --> oops, have to go with Double NAT...

OK thank you! Looks like I need to go down to their store to do the upgrade. The CS guy on the phone told me it was impossible not to use their router
