Yes. Only in shops. You should only pay $10 for the 1st month subscription. Walk away and find other retailers if they say otherwise.
Was charged $15, $5 sim card fee and $10 for 30 days plan. Gave me two free packets of butter biscuits lol. The shop profitted the $5.

Hi all, I have another question for port in. Does it matter if my nric now has a different address versus what was registered in my previous provider (myrepublic) I logged in to myrepublic and couldn't find any field to see and change to my current address.

Address does not matter. What matters is whether the Mobile Number is registered under your NRIC or not.

Signed up 1 line and ported 1 line yesterday at Ideal mobile communications at Blk 447, Clementi Ave 3, here is my feedback:

- For port over line, you do not get to use the temp number immediately. Data is not available for immefiate use. Apparently this depends on the mobile provider. For Maxx, you can use the temp number immediately. Not for Heya. Staff told me it will usually be activated pass midnight after porting. Indeed, when I woke up this morning, data is already available. However, calls and sms are not working yet. Not sure if this takes more time or I have some settings to do.

- New line without porting worked immediately. Caller ID works.

- Mobile reception seems decent

- Paid $10 for each sim. No extra fees charged. Read about some Ah Beng shops with poor service but this shop I went to was excellent. Patient and knowledgeable staff.

- Staff told me there is a promo of some free $10 for next top up? I was rushing a little and didn't pay too much attention.

Updated: Calls and smses work for ported line by next day noon.
