The focus was to trick you to go to their office. I suspect u might not be able to find and then call back the person. From there, the scammer will likely start to manipulate the victim.
Ehhhhh.... u listen the place they tell u to go, immediately will know what's real or fake liao unless u are not a sinkie or u live life like a blur cock, public buildings also dunno.

For me , just need to check the hp number is on WhatsApp or not. If is not, then highly scammer. Anyway I don’t pick up phone call anymore unless is from my contact list. To me if the person can call u using hp n u never pick up , he can always WhatsApp u if is urgent matter. If not confirm is scammer .

That level of social engineering skills u also call "improve tremendously" ah?

naive say naive, stupid say stupid.

Not realistic enuff. Next plz!
Usually people like you so cocky will end up being even more likely to get scam. And research has proven a lot young and educated even tech people get scam too.

Nowadays got AI even worse. Improved text and email messages to look professional. Perhaps their conversation scripts will also sound professionally crafted. Deep fake videos/voices will also increase scams. I see tiktok so many fake videos eg beautiful pilots but still got many people tot is real and commented thank you for their (pilots) service.

Well u never know. At first tell u a convincing place but later can't find, then call back the scammer to check again.

I think we should list down the latest scam variants for awareness.

Recent encounter in Jan 2025:
Scammer impersonate as bank's Anti-fraud officer, quoting your name and NRIC number (last few digits), and informing you that they suspect your identity has been stolen as someone applied for and used the credit card in your name. Scammer will then ask if the fictitious mailing address and email address are correct or not. If incorrect, they deem it as a fraud and request that you make a trip to a specific address/place to update your particulars with their anti fraud dept and also lodge a fraud report to MAS. They will emphasise the urgency of the matter, as the identity thief has charged some significant amount of money to your account, so that you will make a trip to meet them.

Is tat a reason why now government not going to protect our IC no? Cause too many leaking

I have updated my first post to mention that the scammer said the identity thief used your SingPass to apply for the credit card.

Upon hearing, the victim might panic.

Official officers use landlines. How to have WhatsApp.

I really think you have the high potential to be the next victim. Better withdraw all your money and send to your Nok to handle. :o

Not sure how to check.... Is it in the Inbox? I think that's the only place to see what has gone through for your account.
