It's not that noisy but very noticeable if it's on the desk in a study room, etc. I did change the fans to the Noctua ones and its way-way less noisy now.

Are you referring to USG pro 4 or US-16-150W?

The PRO4. The fans on the US-16-150W hardly comes on.

thank you for the advice. seems to be the same as what others on the ubnt forums have mentioned.

So far have bought/ordered
my accessories (6U rack, rack shelf, 1U PDU, racknuts/bolts)
UBNT (cloud key)

The rest I am still reading up on deciding the option
USG vs USG pro 4 (to add Noctua 40mmx20mm FLX x 02 qty)
US-8-150W (passive) vs US-16-150W (active)
AC-pro vs AC-nanoHD
US-8 (04 x qty)
patch cables and other misc

Ubiquiti needs to make a unifi equivalent for their edgerouter 4/6

It will sell like hot cakes

Indeed. I have 1/2 the mind to switch to netgate for the router.. still waiting patiently tho. There is something in the works, its just covered with NDA so dont know what it is actually or when it will come. Hopefully by the end of the year. Sigh.

which netgate router are you going for? Unfortunately it seems that they do not have a retailer based in Singapore.

Also are you referring to Netgate or Ubiquiti having something under wraps?

Get the Nano-HD if you have the budget, more future-proof.

I can only laugh at someone who doesn't know the history of UAPs anyhow providing recommendations.

Go figure out the square ACs and its history and its current state. ;)

I won't touch NanoHD until much much later. NanoHD uses MediaTek chipset while majority of UAPs (even the very old 1st gen 802.11n UAPs) are using Qualcomm Atheros chipsets for 7 years or more.

Finally got both of my access points mounted to the ceiling to improve the coverage cone. One for each floor of the house.

The UAPs are crying.....pity them to have been handled by someone who clearly has no foundation knowledge of RF.

Oh ok, didn't know that makes a difference, tot it was the latest and greatest in terms of capabilities (apart from the HD/SHD APs). You think that the NanoHD wil be short-lived/not well supported? Thanks for any enlightenment that you can provide, highly appreciated.

Oh dear, what did I do wrong in mounting them that way? Hopefully you can provide some insights. Thanks in advance. Appreciated once again.

The user is only an end user, cant blame him for not knowing about MTK's history and about nanoHD issues.

I would avoid nanoHD for now. Dont and wont touch it with a yard stick.

Let it go, not for normal end users to understand and know.

Just wont and dont touch nanoHD for now. Its the hardware and chipset, nothing about the form factor.

Enjoy what you have and using now.

Bro, pls refer to several helpful posts above this.. Better stay away from the nanoHD for now. Cheers.

how did you get it mounted?
you ask your contractor to drill? or you drill it yourself?

Drilled the base/mounting plate to the ceiling and just attach the AP to the plate. Quite easy actually.

However, pls don't follow the placing as there is something wrong with it according to "chaicka". Hopefully, he will provide further details so that I can learn from my mistakes.
