Lets put it this way, if instead of calling on donations to defray past expenses, they call for donations to support the next campaign.

For example, Nicole quitting her job to walk the ground full time and visit the flats starting from now till GE2016. This will certain guarantee to boost her chance a LOT.

If so, will you guys gladly donate to support her campaign?I know I will

then in the meantime she drawing nominal amt from her party as her job ar? so chui mai la :s7:

So the source of all your hate is that they listed out "petty expenses?" And you are ignoring that they actually put up their own money for this and don't expect to get everything back?

You can be sure I will list out all this "petty expenses" if I'm claiming expenses on a job trip. I did spend them for the job anyway, regardless of how you feel about me claiming such things.

You know how petty you sound now?

you seemed incapable of differentiating between hate and going against another's view or way of doing things.

surely you know that allowable petty expenses for business trips etc are valid since you are gainfully employed. so long as you adhere to each company guidelines, you are well within your rights.

how can you compare that to professionals professing to want to serve the poor and needy? when they spend well over $35K, some on unnecessary and petty expenses and yet has the audacity to seek donations to recoup these petty expenses. to add insult to injury, want to cry and show compassion for a poor person over a couple of hundred dollars and yet on the other hand spend well over $35K and then try to recoup all these costs, and YES, EVEN the petty expenses :(

TL;DR, because... oh please, from how you replied to me we all know it's hate.

You flatter me. Sadly if I had control over any opposition party, I would form a coalition with the Workers Party and form a united front.

Now lets look at facts and the leaders of each party. Can you touch your heart and say they are united? There are only so many things one can do, bear in mind, all of us here are part of the electorate, not decision makers in the parties. It is the part of the party leaders to prove to us they can effectively avoid three-way fights amiably and sing the same songs.

i think a few of the opposition party leaders have already mentioned tt any united front would just be a marriage of convenience that wouldn't be in the best interest of Singapore and Singaporeans...

the SDP has a centralist ideaology..the WP a more leftist and socialist ideaology and RP and NSP has a more leftist oriented manifesto....

any conflicts within the oppositions are only expected...when u only have tt few seats to satisfy six different parties...conflicts are bound to happen..and again...i think the media exaggerated the situation by making them look like fools on the national papers

eh please you misunderstood my statement.

i am saying that the ERP charges YOU pay, and the COE charges YOU pay as well, have funded for a certain party's campaign so they don't have to ask YOU to pay more.

Please, quit flaming me or the opposition blindly. My respect for you have sunk tremendously into the deep bowels of the Negative Zone.

can you prove that the erp and coe were used for election campaigns?

and no need to respect or idolise any individual, we are here to discuss different views and opinions, its not personal. so let's focus on the issues.

ok, this is something definitely more palatable for those who believe in her instead of calling for donations to defray past petty expenses.

Can you prove not, when people already proclaim that the Government is the party and the party is the Government, when town council general managers award contracts to companies they mysteriously hold director positions in? There's no accountability anywhere, it's just massive foggy plains that only those behind the smoke and mirrors know what is truly happening.

And BTW, I'm not idolising anyone. (and how is your claim that I do... not personal? wuuuuut?)

So professionals who are trying to do good are not allowed to consider telecoms and transport as expenses?

"I am flying to Japan to help earthquake survivors! The plane ticket therefore should mean nothing to me! It is AUDACIOUS for me to list it as an expense on my part in my financial planning! When I am doing charity, I should not take note on what I spent!"

"I am flying to Japan to discuss a business deal with a client. The plane ticket is A HUGE EXPENSE! Because I am gainfully employed and am trying to make money!!"

:s13::s13::s13::s13::s13::s13::s13:

And what unnecessary stuff have they spent on? List some I'd like to hear.

er although I dun really like the mainstream party .. i dun think they would be dumb enuff to mix garment into own party money. But I think the main reason why they no need to ask for money from pple when campaigning because they always choose mostly elites whom are rich and dun care 7 to 8k individually or more for a chance to be a MP (which is somewhat a majority chance being in mainstream party anyways) ... or mabbe some of them want to ask for donation but godfather says NO :s8:

and hows the party going to raise the funds to pay these nominal salary??:s13::s13: GMS 's pocket?

Seriously though, its very taxing to hold a job and at the same time campaign consistently through the 5 years for elections, so if she or anyone else for that matter decides to go full time, I will support what I can

/agree we would not know exactly ... even members of the party itself might not know. But I still think I will differ if the allegation is they mix the funds without clear accountability between garment and party lines. A lot of the candidates and all are lawyers (very senior ones at that) - if tio knowledge of this all will be shamed quite badly ... reputational damage is one thing, wait tio disbarred somemore

why should the plan ticket to japan be a huge expense? many have spent a lot more on trying to secure business for their companies. but surely you know you have digressed. when you choose to do charity in your own personal capacity and you announce it to the press, then surely its expected that you are not claiming these costs from the company.

what telecoms, transport and incidental expenses do you think nicole is claiming?
taxi fares, bus fares, mrt fares? surely not tickets to japan? :s8:
