:s22: now den realize overspent.....

I don't think they only realize now but already knew, but still had to exceed their budget for the sake of the election.

for eg, final minute printing & distribution of flyers will have marked up the PAP's budget a lot also, but they did it because it was a needed, last ditch effort to salvage aljnunied. If PAP has won it, it will have been considered money well-spent, eventhough it is exactly same as NSP, a busted budget.

Only difference is PAP has magic pockets unlike the opposition. And being a poor party, well, they need donations. So, i don't see how it casts a shadow on their competence. I believe they knew the original budget had to be over-run due to developing circumstances.

It would be different if they did not know what was happening until after the election.

The opposition candidates now are not truck drivers or something like in the past. Many are in fact a lot more qualified than the EDMWers criticizing them now.

have u listened to her speech...and her media interviews...yep..there might be a tinge of being over-rated by netizens...but she knows her stuff and is able to articulate it in a confident manner...true....she might have won some votes base on her sex appeal and wholesomeness....but Singaporeans as proven in tis GE...are wise voters..and most votes for her i assume are based on her potential and guts...how many 24 year old females have the guts to speak out against goverment policies in front of a political rally..u know..it's easier to toe the line than to step over the line

i no rike garment policies but I humz to dare to speak against them openly .. i cannot risk my jobz and bread + butter, for that I respeck her not all looks .. pls dun judge me :(

very true about their magic and DEEP pockets ... got surgeons and lawyers ... not to name names, one of the young lawyers earn in excess of 20k per MTH .... its pittance compared to the chance to make it into politics ... they are overachievers and not to say that their entering into garment is anything badz might be good since they dun need to care really abt making ends meet like peasants like us

why should the plan ticket to japan be a huge expense? many have spent a lot more on trying to secure business for their companies. but surely you know you have digressed. when you choose to do charity in your own personal capacity and you announce it to the press, then surely its expected that you are not claiming these costs from the company.

what telecoms, transport and incidental expenses do you think nicole is claiming?
taxi fares, bus fares, mrt fares? surely not tickets to japan? :s8:

HAHAHA you have totally lost your plot. You no longer have any idea what you are talking about now.

Going to Japan to do charity is not an expense now? You better not be running any charitable organisations in the future LOL.

What's with arguing people spent more trying to secure business for their companies? WTF has that got to do with anything? Does that mean their spending is magically not an expense now?

What makes you think Nicole is trying to claim everything? She is merely trying to defray some of her overall expenditure through kind donations. This isn't reimbursement here.

So you're not going to claim transport fees and telecom fees if you're doing alot of traveling during NS? You are serving the nation out of your own capacity right?

And lastly, why so much hate for a party who simply listed incidentals in their overall expense list?

:s13: Pure hate

Im quite sure they are listing all expenses for the sake of clarity & accountablity. So the numbers will tally fully on the books. Political parties are subject to very strict regulations on expenses & donations. This are expenses which will likely increase in future & need to be referenced.

In this game, every small detail will be exploited by the opponents. You never know what people will dig out. I remember chee soon juan was investigated because he used postage stamps for his own personal mail or something. But of course, there will be exceptions like Vivian who does not need to breakdown how he blew an extra 300 million.

/agree we would not know exactly ... even members of the party itself might not know. But I still think I will differ if the allegation is they mix the funds without clear accountability between garment and party lines. A lot of the candidates and all are lawyers (very senior ones at that) - if tio knowledge of this all will be shamed quite badly ... reputational damage is one thing, wait tio disbarred somemore

I don't think they would mix up too. Most MPs hold senior directory/advisor positions that no doubt help defray lots of costs =:p

That's different. A rogue politician is a category 1 national threat.

i also say ... the minister of law literally retains his equity partnership share in one of the largest law firm in SG ... and I thnk he retains consultancy with the law firm as well. All legit nothing wrong with that - the money he earns certainly can defray A LOT :s7:

Nothing wrong with asking for donations, but they should setup a separate account for this purpose so that there can be transparency.

I think next time, minister should report big figure budget first when doing something. After job done then tell everyone tt the bill actually lower so everyone will praise him for lower bill to get things done instead of getting blame for over budget to get things done, right?

LOL apparently you have never claimed transport in NS and accusing people to be full of something. LOL

As if phone lines are not provided in NS. And there is no intranet system for you to claim transport fees.

LOL you are such a fool.:s13:

Everything you have stated here has been completely shot down. You have shown to be nothing but a shell of empty hate.

yes, we all know that :s13:

and if you think using personal bank account to receive political donations can show proper segregation and accountability, then by all means go ahead.

Out of arguments, degenerating to insults and making up things other people say? Not even creative ones, but simply putting "I" over "you"?

LOL at your debate skills. And LOL at your shamelessness and inability to admit your faults and mistakes.

Even Tin Pei Ling can do a better job at debating than you. You have been totally owned, but instead of apologising and saving face, you go all in to make a bigger fool of yourself.

:s13::s13::s13: Still have the nerve to insult Nicole Seah and the NSP :s22::s13::s13:
