It is good that he reads the reviews and ownself decide, instead of jus following a fanboy's decision.
And for touch n go user, it does not mean only Asus fits the bill. All brands can fit the bill. He needs to know what are each brands' pros n cons.
To TS, i suggest u read up. Yureak is a well known Asus fanboy. You can choose to follow his advice, that is ur decision. But dun ditch other brands jus coz of his words.
I am an EVGA Classy 780 owner and the card i owned before this was an Asus 780 dc2 and before this a Palit 780 Jetstream. Therefore from my personal experience having owned 3 780s i am sharing on the difference between brands.
If maybe you switched over to green camp and have owned several units of GK110s you'd be in a better position to see the difference and provide advice. If all your knowledge is gleaned not first hand but merely on reviews then i would say that is a very shallow view.

EVGA is good for excellent customer support in the US but locally it is no different since we go through distros.
For build quality wise Asus DC2 still comes out on top over EVGA even for high end Classified models.
This is simply from my personal observation. Unless you are going to do extreme overclocking id stick with the safe option. At the end of the day you can check reviews its still a 780 and the performance is roughly similar.
What is different is how the item feels and is built. I dont get money for promoting a certain brand or unit
If youre overclocking heavily to match 780 Tis without overvolting
Go for Gigabyte Ghz Edition or MSI Lightning.
If you are running custom water cooling and want to overvolt and overclock to smash even overclocked 780 Tis get an EVGA Classified.
If you want a simple hands off solution and just have a unit ready to pull punches on any given game today just get a 780 dc2
