Hi All,

Newbie here. I got Q#399 for the TPY BTO.

What are my odds of getting TPY crest? (out of 464 units.)

Theoretically, i should be able to get one but some ppl are talking about ethic quotas....leaving me worried.

Anyone can enlighten me?

Ya.

If the particular block that you want is already taken up by majority chinese. As in the ethic quotas is full.

You can't choose that block anymore.
Unless you are not chinese.

seeking your opinion, which block and unit will you choose for 3 room?

Block 29 and 30 without doubt.

The one that you mention before facing the bukit timah hill.
From the layout. I dont think you got any view of the hill.
If you are selecting 3 room.

Off all the 3 room. Only this 2 block have the best view.
It will be challenging to get a unit there.
The other 3 room is really weak in view.

BLOCK 30 will be the block i recommend...

HDB Nov 2012 BTO Newbie enlightenment ?

I applied for a flat at TPY 3 rm for the first time in my entire life. I have some questions perhaps someone can assist:

1. Is the ballot number is for ALL flats studio, 2 rm, 3 rm, 4 rm ? Or is it for my case, my ballot number is for 3 rm only ?

2. From experience, to my good folks out there or those that are really in the know, when your turn comes on a certain day and time, are the rest that are having appointments then only choosing the 3 rm flats ?

3. The selection is in Jan 2013. So from past data, I am sure someone has kept some data somewhere, how many appointments does HDB entertain every day ? And how many minutes are alloted for each appointment ?

4. In terms of the Optional Components opt-in, do I need to commit to this on selection day ? Are there choices to make, for example the bathroom tile, is there a choice or only ONE choice. Meaning, the upgrade is pretty standard for everybody and no choice ?

Appreciate any kind of info anyone can provide....I am sure a lot of newbies are wondering about these things too....THANK YOU.

I was reading the Sep 2012 BTO threads, that each estate gets a different dates, for example, Queenstown may be first and TPY may be much later. Do they go by estate, alphabetical order or ..... ??

Or is it all estates will be out for grabs starting Jan 2013 ?

In reference your data point, suppose I am 120/413 for the 3rm, that means, I should be up for appointment in about the 4th day since u said, they see 30 per day ? Or maybe it gets more complicated as they need to sell the studios and others, which means the 30 people they see that day is a mix of the different flats that are sold that day ?

question to experts here on the maximum 10K income salary requirement. how exactly is that assessed? do they take the past 12 months of gross income for my wife & I and ensure its not over 120K or do they simply look at the gross salary in the month of signing the lease with HDB? until what time do we have to maintain below 10K salary levels?

When you applied didn't you key in your salary?

Salaried workers is average of 3 months, the rest i think is average of 12 months cannot be above 10k. Not all components of your salary are included eg. bonuses aren't included. The HDB officer will verify your stated salary in your application against your documents on the selection date and amend if incorrect. There's nothing to maintain, it is based at the point of application. If you didn't hit the ceiling on your application date, but crossed on your selection date nothing will happen, you are still eligible for the flat and still eligible for HLE.

You can do so now...

I think possible to do it when you go down to put deposit 2k than at the same time applied on the spot.

Cos upon booking your unit. You need to pay 2k deposit.

And the next appointment to submit other documents will be 3-4 months later. And HLE is only valid for 3 months.
So it might expiry if you applied to early.

Although, the e-mail I got from HDB, it did only say a hard copy of the selection appt will be mailed. Says nothing about a soft copy. Based on your past experience, what does actually happen ?

If they put it online for you to view and alert u via SMS, it will save the agonizing trip to HDB hub every day just waiting for the selection appt to get posted on a bulletin board ?

no need apply now, they are damn slow anyway.

apply when the hdb officer asks u to apply during selection

Wah, looks like you're one of those "on the ground" with the info that I have to count on. I'm working overseas now, which explains why I'm looking out for the selection dates coz I need to make preparations to return to Singapore. You applied 3/4/5-room? Queue number good enough for you?

And I got no pref because parents, while near in BP, is not considered near enough for HDB. So I got the number with two ballot chances as well

i applied for 4-room. yours is 5-room right? i think my queue number be quite all right? lol. just hope to be able to get the block and level i want. 1xx shouldnt be too bad. haha. u are lucky too to get good queue number! hope we can get our desired units! and as for the selection date, i think we have to look out for hdb's update bah.. hope it doesn't clash with my sch classes.=x

anyway, just to add, for those who are asking abt the 3d models, all the 3d models are there EXCEPT Ghim moh and CCK. meaning compassvale mast, rivervale delta, joo seng green, toa payoh crest and fengshan greenville are all there. the OCS stuffs are up for all the BTOs though.

I got a hardcopy via mailbox , an email and a sms from them.
Dont worry so much. They will keep you well inform. You wont miss your chance to get your house.

Anyway good luck on your house hunting.
Select more chioces to avoid disappointment last min.
