hello.. i got an interview this morning too... a professor told me that there are 200 of interviewees to go through.. and they are going to complete it by end of this week.. We will only be notify of the outcome next week.. So, hold on..

I'm wondering wad do you guys answer when they said you are not being offered to the course? I'm really curious of the response that's all.. =]

oh. erm. 200. but they did mention how many are they acty gonna accept? 100? i think shld be 50 or smthg? just my guess k. cos i think they want to pick those really gd ones or smthg? i think this interview is very impt to me i guess. becos they are selecting ppl of various results. not ard the same results. like BCD, CCC, BCC, ACC. so like there's quite a gap in the results. who knows someone who got CCC did well in the interview and he/she may get an offer rather than someone who got ACC screwed up the interview. I m not sure too. just my guess.

erm. did they say dat u r not offered or smthg? they only ask me whats my plans if i m not offered.
anyway, they asked me quite alot on my pw. as in the professor with white hair. i was very stunt and dont know how to ans. yup. i think my chances of getting an offer is like 0.1% aldy. my bad to mess up the interview. erm. since u r sick of it, i think u have to consider carefully yea. cos i have a friend she hates physics like anything. and she is not doing well in common engine. yup. manage to pass lar, but is not smthg she wants.

OH My god. I got ABD and E, appealling EEE, still havn't receive any interviews yet.

patience my friend. there are lots of peeps trying to appeal. imagine u are the staff there and u need TIME to handle all these appeals. give them some time. ur results should make it. =)

erm. i dont think all the schs conduct interviews? i think if u appealed for common, u probably will get the interview and u probably cos some of those who got CCC who got interview. so relax k. i think only common engine got interview. cos i think the professors probably have the impression dat those ppl who appeal for common cos they want to get an offer in the sch. yup.

Perhaps common has a lower cut off than EEE? If you do a mental calculation, ABD is around ACC. Actually, it would be wiser to appeal to common instead of EEE because you can get to specialize in EEE after 1 year anyway and EEE & Mech does take in quite abit of students compared to others.

Ehh.. am I wrong? I haven't been catching up with this thread lately and doesn't know what is going on right now. I don't know if people who appealed will be asked for interview or not since I haven't got any notice about it yet... If it is, then.. I guess I don't have to wait for any letters for result already since it seemed like 200 appeal applicants had been chosen.

I appealed for the chemical and biomolecular engineering. And surprising it is successful. Now I wonder if this is mistake. Because if i accept the course, i will have to withdraw my course in NUS. If this is mistake, i will end up with no course

anyway, to what i see, appeal successful shld be nxt week which is end of juune. appeal failed shld be week after nxt which is early july. so i think mine is the early june one.

Yes. I am sure. FYI, the last day to confirm the acceptance is 23/6. I check the acceptance website ( site to confirm the acceptance), the course chemical and biomolecular engineeringi is there. My grades are AAB. GP C5.

oh. but yrs is 2nd acceptance offer or appeal? ok. sorry. becos i think appeal case is not under the 23rd June thing. ok. anyway, congrats. if u decided to go for NTU, den u tell nus yea.

But my friend who is in common eng in NUS though, his cap point at the end of first year is 3.2/5.0 which is considered kind of low already yet he managed to get into chemcial engineering. Kind of surprise though coz i thought chemical engineering is the most popular and hardest course to get in. And his A-Level result is only ABC and B for GP

oh. i think for nus all the 1st year is the same. however for ntu, its different. the professors told me dat after common, u can only get into civil, eee, mechanical (i think) and envt engine. so i think ntu n nus have abit of difference. yup. o ok. every year is different. i think chem engine shld be at least aab or abb this year? i personally dont know.

I think there are alot of procedures they are acty doing. like ppl giving up their offers for overseas uni (cos i think some overseas uni now den offer local students), ppl appeal to change courses here n there. yup. i think 2nd acceptance window is for ppl who didnt receive anything(be it offer or rejection) during the 1st window. dats what i think.

2nd acceptance window is simply for people who got accepted into the school during this period, no matter the reason.

Bear in mind that there is alot of paperwork to be done by the student after getting accepted. On the NTU website (after obtaining your matri no.), there is a declaration portion.

For students who accepted offer on or before 9 June 2008:
21 June 2008

For students who accepted offer after 9 June 2008:
27 June 2008

I guess it is pretty obvious there should be some form of notice by the end of this weekend.

haiz maybe mech eng is diff to get in afterall...shud have chose common instead, then at least i will be granted an interview... this yr soooooo competitive... all thanks to dragon batch and myself for not working hard...

nope.. i doubt it's common engine.. I appealed for NTU Computer Science and NUS Computing... (are they HOT course?) hearing nothing from them yet and the admission acceptance site. I'm from poly with a GPA of 3.61.

dragon batch is just too much.. and with so many people unable to get in this time round, it's going to build up onto next year amount of applicants I'm sure which makes it worse.
