NTU MSc Interview & Written Test?

I'm from Indo but currently living in land faar faaar away (London, UK). If the deadline is 17th May, its gonna be pretty tight, getting kinda worried that the mail won't arrive on time... wonder if I should just accept the offer even before I get the official offer letter package.. hmmmmm

plus need to apply to student accommodation which needs me to accept the offer to be able to apply ~_~ hope theres still space left...

btw, do you know how the job scene is for web developers/programmers in Singapore? Its one of most popular and highly paid jobs here in the UK, just wondering if its the same case in Singapore or not

Hi All, i was offered admission in NTU for Knowledge Management. But my another application at NUS for M.Comp got rejected.

I have good academics with 2 yrs related work experience. But my GRE score was less than prescribed minimum. Except GRE score everything else sounds in favour in my application. Is it the reason(low GRE score) responsible for application getting rejected. I can observe people who havent submitted GRE scores too got offer from NUS.

I have got the IELTS score of band 7. Can I apply for January intake in NUS without submitting GRE score once again ?

Any idea regarding this?

Though am not actually into Information studies or systems (Into precision engineering to be precise ) I would like to share few words reg our status as of now.

Done with booking tickets and stuffs. Packing is what is actually going around in here. registration for the courses starts off from 23rd of July, if am not wrong.

And to forget not, everyone are doing Accommodation hunt Badly And im one such soul ;(

Verrrrrry upset with the universities' verrrry less seats of the hostels being allocated to Coursework MSc., Students. Most of us have already received REJECT mails and few others are expecting the same

Searching for off campus accommodation doesnt appear to be so easy as we heard before abt it. Ppl are forming grps as well to rent together a unit outside.

I can't imagine how difficult can it be to rent off-campus accommodation especially when NTU is located in boon lay. are you being too picky in terms of price or location?

Anyway, if you are looking for accommodation outside of campus, maybe you try searching for rental in Jurong West st 70, 80, 90-ish. If you are looking for place with good amenities, it will be st 60-ish as it's near to Jurong Point. it's the nearest estate to school.

Just registered last week. Which program did you enrol? I am in the Info Studies program. Guys, matric card will be issued during lesson time, by the professor who teaches you. You should get ur card by the end of first week. If not, just go to the admin office to collect ur card.

I have friends who took 1.5 years to complete the full-time programme and 2.5 years to complete the part-time programme - Info Sys. The website may have stated that one can complete the programme within 1 year (full-time) or 2 (part-time), many find it too tough and overloaded. I remember on my first day, the programme director advised us to consider taking another half a year as it will be too heavy loaded. Imagine each course has about 2 assignments + 2 presentations + 1 exam. If you plan to take 5 courses in the first semester, you will be overwhelmed with about 10 assignments and 10 presentations.

I personally feel that you should not plan too many courses in the semester that you are taking Critical Inquiry (research project), it will be too stressfully and time-consuming. For those who are going for coursework+disertation, you may have already knew, the website has given the warning - you will likely take more than 1 year to complete the full-time programme.

Just my opinion, take it with a pinch of salt.

You may do a mixture of core and elective courses in the first semester, as long as you meet the minimum requirements to graduate.

Professors usually advise us to take as many cores as possible in the first semester as they are high in demand, some are even not available in both semesters. If you aim to complete the programme in 1 year then you must heed the advice. wow... these are good information. thanks! I'm actually planning to complete the course in a year as I'm puttiing everything aside for fulltime studies. Hopefully it'll work out for me.

Fully agree! Even in KM, it's pretty loaded with assignments + presentations. For me, I'm taking 2 modules per Sem. So I will graduate in 2.5 years. This upcoming Sem which is my 3rd Sem, I'll be doing CI +1 elective. Anyway, for those who want to fast-track and graduate ASAP, then probably shouldn't bother too much about GPA so long as can pass and meet the requirements to graduate.

Well to each his own... all the best to your studies! Just curious how old are u? fresh from Uni or already working for some time? You and my friend (mentioned in my earlier post) are at extreme ends haha I joked with my friend that he is 'superman' trying to juggle bet. work, family and studies.

I am going to pursue Info Systems and intend to complete in 1 year flat . Much like my friend here ``DarkNight`` i too have no obligations . Studies on my mind ! Btw did anyone get mails for choosing subjects . In my opinion NTU is supposed to send it to us . Just curious .
Also anyone looking for Hostel accommodation . Mine got rejected . looking for something good an affordable . Any suggestions guys ..??
