Yeah supplement I stick to multivitamins and I dun take everyday just once in every few days.. together with Omega 3, helps to control bad cholesterol....
You might be better off without. Reduce the unnecessary strain on kidneys or liver.

Ayam brand Sardines in water and cod liver (shopee/lazada) provides more EPA and dha than the fish oil pills.

Dunn worry about cholesterol la. It's never an issue.

I usually take 2 of these once every few days or per week. yeah 2 of these is so called equivalent to the sardines which state it has 1.8g...

I am taking statin to control cholesterol, it helps with keeping the LDL to the optimum.

It's easier to look at it per 100g. Just the can of sardines will give about 4g omega 3. Cod liver, 13g omega 3 per can. And it's real wholesome food. Nothing synthetic.

I'm not sure if there's an optimum or minimum level. Cholesterol is made by our body in the quantity we need. I do not see any reason to suppress it artificially through drugs.

I will gag when eating sardines just like that... the fishy smell is bukeyi...

I only cook when my mum wants to eat.. usually those in tomato sauce, will add chilli, onions and sugar to it and cook it.

Yes, it is always available but you do need to contact AIC or Medical Social Worker for it.. and I think you might need to go through some level of assessment, they send my mum to Rehabilitative Services to do the assessment... but to be frank not sure what assessment they need, my mum got toes amputated and Diabetic peripheral neuropathy in her leg, but the therapist there indeed can help you apply for it.

Wait you got visit the physiotherapist also right?? But your case is injured shoulder, not sure if they will approved or not though, but no harm asking.
Injured RIGHT shoulder, can't do anything on my own

I'm guessing that you are post menopausal suffering from sarcopenia and osteoporosis.

While you are seeking info on nursing home and caregiver assistance, perhaps you might want to think about your diet in the past decade. I always go by this mantra, ' you are what you eat'.

If you do not give your body what it needs to build and grow, you might not have an optimistic recovery.

Ps. I hope you are not a vegetarian or vegan.
sarcopenia after menopause very common after women menopause, you can see a near 1.8 m grandson with a barely 1.5 m grangmother!

Aiyo, buy those non-purple onions and stir fry till breakup then stir in the can of sardines with a bit of water. The fishy smell gone. Buy the small sardine cans one. If you got buy vegetables from market, ask for free or top up of green limes/chillies to use for your sardines. Folks who sit / rest too better fry some bittergourd with blackbeans to eat - to prevent dm and weaker legs. A lot of TCM foods are better than drugs, but of course not with blood thinners etc, ask doctors before taking!

do you know some small All-in-pot sold in Shoppee can fry, stir, steam rice, and you google bitter bittergourd stir fry, they give suggestions what to stir fry with
PS, black beans good but there are other "Tau-si" beans sold in bottles, just a bit will do.
Veges fry without anything up to you then dip in sauces.
I mean you enjoy your recuperating time,
get Tingkat delivered to a cart with wheels and drag it in with a string?

They stay with us , just like helper ?
Do they also cook?
How much is the cost?*

Yes live-in primary job is caregiving so bath, exercise, medication, take to doctor appointments etc. Mine cooked and basic housework (sweep, change sheets and laundry) for the patient. When I hired back in 2021, I narrowed down to 2 after looking at their work experience and interview. I picked the $1000 over $650. As she had more experience e.g intubation and taking care of bed-bound elderly plus she was highly independent has experience taking patient to hospital checkups, reviews by herself.

My suggestion you speak with the agency and shortlist those that fit your requirements. Interview them after all you'll be spending almost 24/7 with them for awhile.

Thanks. But all this would take time to process, right?
In my case my helper is, and will still be here unless emergency crops up with her son's surgery. In which case I need help fast.
I'm at a loss what to do if that arises. Cos hospital had told me that social worker is for inpatients. And that once discharged, I can't get transferred to community hospital

Better to speak with them and get an idea. I think pretty fast if they have available candidates for transfer. I got mine in about a week even during covid times. Lucky back then as borders were closed.

One thing you might notice some don't fulfill 2years contract or have very short stints with employers. Do ask why although likely for good ones is their patients passed away or recovered enough to change to normal domestic help.

I’ve been in a similar situation after an accident where I couldn’t use one arm for months. Getting reliable help at home made a huge difference, but I was pretty worried too whenever my main caregiver had emergencies or time off. It’s a tough spot, especially with physio, meds, and all the personal care stuff. In my case, I ended up searching for backup caregivers just in case, because not everyone is trained or comfortable handling the physical needs, like bathing or moving me safely. If you’re in Philly, there are local services that specialize in this and actually send trained caregivers to your home who can do everything from personal care to helping with appointments. They handle the medical side, physio routines, and even things like shopping or companion care, which is good when you’re that dependent. You might want to look into home care in Philadelphia, PA if you need that level of support for a few weeks or even just until you feel more stable at home.

My helper fell and hurt herself more than a week ago. Too bad I'm not in Phillie.
Luckily I have tenants; bought meals for me, placed onto a plate, brought to my room, washed up , pour water, showered and shampoed me.
