Now having dilemma over this vs the new 13" rMBP.. Heard mbp getting refreshed and facelift in the sky lake version, next year...
Every year will have new version. nxt year wait for next year and then wait for next year again..its never gonna end.
Its all about needs or wants. If u need one now, just get it. No point waiting for next year and then next year.
Any idea if this new macbook will be able to run photoshop or lightroom? Or i'm better off getting the 11inch and max the ram?

Apple never fails to impress me in terms of design and the new macbook is no exception and the new macbook is really beautiful.
The only concern is lack of ports and CPU power to run VMs and other resource hungry applications and tasks.
I think the target audience of the MacBook is lightweight users. Really lightweight.
Like being able to work on your documents/presentation on the go on the bus/train/plane or at Starbucks, browsing the web and viewing videos/photos and doing some lightweight photo editing
If you want more ports to power an external display/more CPU to run apps like Final Cut Pro or play games and stuff then you should get the Retina MacBook Pro instead.
Will the Gold colour fade or tarnish over time ?
Intel Core M is able to run lightroom (reviews based on windows) since the processor can speed boost to 2.9GHz but running on a Mac might be different. Have to wait for proper reviews. Hopefully apple optimize it till this Core M matches close to the Air performance.
Which model are you using for the Core M? Asus? How is the overall performance?
Hope got reviews soon. Looks good! Thinking between this or macbook air 11inch. At EP, Macbook air 11inch only about $1.5k with 8gb ram.
but my processor is the first gen CORE m where each core is running @ 0.8GHz. I saw apple is going to use 1.3GHz. went to google for this processor, couldn't find any. The highest I can find is 1.2GHz. So this means that apple is going to use more advanced CORE m processor that is not yet released in the market. WOW.
WOW. What 1.3GHz?

Buyer will be able to upgrade to the faster 1.3GHz processor when MacBook is available for sale.

*I thought 1.2GHz will be able to turbo boost to 2.9GHz. Why 1.3GHz only turbo boost to 2.9GHz?
I see.. I wonder what they will sell that 0.1GHz for? $100? heh or add more RAM/SSD together with it
Maybe if they turbo more than 2.9GHz, it will be too hot for the laptop to handle?
