hi all.most probably by the fourth quater of this year...or by next year,i would have save up enough to buy a good and performance frame plus parts.
now i need some suggestion about these frames or if you have other frames to recommend, share it.

my budget is roughly 4kplus.help me out guys.

criteria is speed.but frame and parts may be subjected to rough usage, like daily cycling,or terrain riding, cycling in the rain for hours.

$4k can hoots Giant Anthem 1 with same specs as mine liao! Still got enough for a pair of Specialized BG shoes

Speed is always the rider, not the bike. And when you want to speed, speed where? onroad or offroad?

4k plus can get you a high end hardtail or a mid end full susp. From the riding you describe
"criteria is speed.but frame and parts may be subjected to rough usage, like daily cycling,or terrain riding, cycling in the rain for hours."
Get an alu hardtail with high end light parts.

frame ~800
fork ~600-700? (get the 07 sid, the 08 will be a pig for you)
wheelset ~1.5k (tune hubs, with ztr 355 rims with dt aerolite or sapim cxray, or marwi ti spokes, alloy nipples).
tires ~ kenda klimax lite (344g tires, you need them)
tubes - super light tubes (another good place to shave weight)
sram x.0 shifters
sram x.0 rear D (mid cage, assuming you are strong enough to not use the granny, you should not need a large)
eggbeater 4ti pedals
carbon straight bar, no bar ends
kcnc sc wing stem
chris king, cane creek 110, or acros headset
ti skewers, best if bolt-on
alligator ilink cable housing
titic pork rind grips
ti bolts all around
tune speedneedle saddle
kcnc ti pro lite seatpost
xtr 11-32 cassette, or kcnc lightweight cassette.
The rest depends on what you have remaining, choose between xt and xtr.
v-brake setup will always be lighter than disc brake, but the gap is closing.

Your target should be weight. aim for 9kg without using ridiculous weightweenie parts. After that, it's all about the engine (yourself)

May I suggest Tune Bobo headset (same price as King) but so much lighter.

speed is a main criteria.my usual training grounds are tampines gt-trail,tamp to ecp through bedok, tamp to pasir ris park, and have been wanting to try BT as well as pulau ubin.
im currently riding a hardtail but was a old one.only have 21speed.
intending to tryout a FS.

Ah, Giant Anthem 1 and 2 uses the RP2 shock, the Anthem 0 uses the RP23. Got mine from Tay Junction. My Giant Anthem is black in colour as Tay didn't have the Anthem 1 (blue and brushed alu colour) in my size, so gave me the Anthem 2 (black and brushed alu) frame in L size but with Anthem 1 specs.

Basically same bike, only different colour.

The red frame with the RP23 rear shock is the Giant Anthem 0. :D

check taycycle.com.

they provide pricing for the full bike, not for frame only.

Can call them up to check. I think they sell the alu Anthem Team (Fox RP23 shock) frame alone also.
