hi guys... got a DBV-T compliant usb stick lying around for other uses and wanted to try out tuning HDTV. Read up that the switchover to DVB-T2 started Dec 2013 but DVB-T should still be broadcasting for a few more years correct?

Just wanted to check.. because my tuner wasn't able to pick up a single thing on 538mhz. Wanted to test test on CNA. Antenna is about 1-2m away from the nearest window.

Am I doing something wrong or is DVB-T already completely obsolete now?
Mediacorp DVB-T channels are now all on 610Mhz.

Some DVB-T2 channels are transmitted via 538Mhz but there is no DVB-T channel at that frequency.

Can the TBS5220 USB DVB-T2 able to watch more than one TV channels?
Currently my AVerMedia A188 DVB-T card can watch CH 8 CH 5 and CNA
same time in different windows using DVBDream. About time to switch to
DVB-T2 and if this USB stick able to do that will be good.

Yes but only if the channels are on the same frequency.

For example:
CNA, CHU, OKTO on 522Mhz
CH5_HD, SURIA_HD on 538Mhz
VASANTHAM_HD, CH8_HD on 554Mhz

Thus if u are recording CH8_HD, then u can only watch CH8_HD or VASANTHAM_HD with a stick that supports a single tuner.

Wah why they don't put CH5 CH8 and CHU on same freq :s11:
CH8 + Vasantham :s22: CH5 + Suria :s22: CHU CNA OKTO still ok.

ChU CNA Okto all SD thats why can squeeze into 1 channel mah ...

the rest all HD only enough bandwidth to squeeze 2 into 1 channel mah

tried 610mhz and still nothing... ordered a coaxial to mcx connector so I can try tapping into the building-top antenna... maybe my room reception is just really bad.

Hi LIVE

Which software would you recommend for live tv?

I tried dvbdream etc but the software is very unstable. The only stable software that i have that supports DVB T2 is NPVR. I prefer standalone software (ie not those server/client type)

me using dvbdream, progdvb, smartdvb, dvbviewer and tbsviewer for testing and viewing

will post screenshots in next few posts
all tested with TBS T2 tuners and Win7 x64

* channels scan - will inform u of new channels, updated channels or lost channels since last scan, good for finding what's new in DVB-C with hundreds of channels
* change default audio track for ur channels if u have stuttering audio with AAC 5.1
* others for u to find out urself
