This model has no issue.. I am using it just fine.

The issue is whether you are putting it int he right spot, or your house got reception.

If your house no reception you will need to use DVB-C instead. Basically instead of using an antenna connect it to your house the wall socket./

Then this is one issue that cannot predetermine unless there's one physical product to test.

So have your issue settle? I thought this model don't have problem.

Now I need to reconsider.

But it's not a hardware issue with the tuner itself.

You can get all the tuners you want, but if your house location is really so suay that cannot receive antenna signal, then it wont help..

Changing the antenna may help, but it's not guaranteed.

However, as mentioned, can confirm that that tuner works with DVB-C.

Which means can plug directly to the wall socket in the event you cannot receive DVB-T2

Anyone managed to get the remote controller for the TBS 5220 USB DVB-T2/T/C working? Any specified setting to be done or any driver to be installed to use the remote controller?

I have no problem watching all the HD channels but cannot use the remote controller, I am using ProgDVB and Win 7 x64 OS.

Ya, afraid after purchase it can't works

I still have the PCI tv tuner but recently don't know what the channel have a lot of noises and sometime became black and white while in the past received the channel perfectly.

I wonder if it is due to the cable, TV card or the splitter or the tv socket on the wall and that is why I want to purchase new TV card/usb.

which area you live in?

my area, even though I live on level 2 and my apt is surrounded by buildings, I am very fortunate as there is a just nice spot where I can receive the signal properly.

but I cant move my antenna from that spot so I have to tape it there.

Hi guys, just to share my experience with Digital DVB-T2, perhaps it can help some of you.

I have a built in tuner in my TV so I just bought a indoor antenna. At first I placed it near my router, xbox, NAS and when I switched one of those on, the signal will suddenly go off and the TV is blank. If the other devices are off, everything is fine.

Two months later, I did some rearrangement of my devices and I pulled the antenna about 1 m away from the other devices. To my surprise, no problem with the TV signal, even when all the devices are on.

Lesson learnt : Don't put the antenna close to any radio emitting devices. DVB-T2 is good in that even a weak signal can give you a good quality picture but it can also be easily affected by stray radio frequencies. Play around with your antenna position preferbly put it as far away from TV as possible.

Just my 2cents:)

i have the TBS 6281 for some time now. it is always giving me problems.
My recordings in NPVR are missed because it says unable to find available capture device. I then used SmartDVB to try to watch, it is also giving errors relating to cannot start the device.
Windows device manager shows everything is normal. Because this happened for sometime already, i also downloaded new drivers hopefully to solve the issue but seems like it persists.
What should i do now?

It seems to be the same problem as my TBS 6285 (but only isolated to the DVB-C receiver only).

Try reseating the card, or relocate to another PCI-E slot. If it doesn't solve the problem, u may have to RMA the card.

i am using it on the pci-e x16 slot but configured to 1x/4x in BIOS. x16 doesnt run.

I am going to see if i can change to a x1 slot now

I will download and try.

I just figured out the Tuner A may be faulty. Recordings seem to not start on the Tuner A and starts in B instead. 2nd recording for Overlapping schedules will not start as well. So i assume tuner A not working.

It is shown as functional in device msanager and software can detect both tuners but i think it cant be started.

Looks like TBS having Xmas sale now.

How is their after sales support and software support (driver stability, speed in fixing bugs in software, etc)?

I told them the issues i described here. As usual they wan you to try their troubleshooting steps. I did and i provided what they wanted and my own testing together with screenshots. So they just ask me to send back. But i think the email was re-routed to buydvb support and the replacement happens there bah.

All was done via email correspondence with proper screenshots.

Just received the card via DHL. Surprised DHL delivers on Public holiday as well. Everything seems to be on order. Just have to monitor for a few more weeks and see if both tuners will work at the same time anot.

So i took the card for a run and it seems that issues are surfacing again.
May i ask, those using the 6281 and running in T2 mode, what driver version are you guys using?
