hi guys, just asking right, my friend wants to sell me his cinelli with the ultegra brakes, durace wheels for 1k. is it worth buying? ive never took to cycling a road bike hence asking. Everything seems fine, just normal wear and tear marks here n there.

plush is goot? i think only for DH and Freestlye bike then plush is good ba. Its negative for climbing and normal peddling leh.

Yes I think DW is really good, but commencal is wickedly attractive. If you never ridden a DW before, I think single pivot makes no difference. Cos you don't know any better.

nowadays technology is so high end there is not much difference in pedal bob anymore. if you can't climb, it just means your bike is inefficient

DB quite difficult to find in singapore, but Tay cycle at tampines has a couple of them, dont know if its still there. the best is to call LBS and enquire before going down to avoid a wasted trip.

would like to get some opinions on road bikes...

first of all i'm a starter looking to cycling as a form of exercise and recreation. as much as i can cycle, i don't have much confidence cycling on the road itself. as such, i'll most likely cycle in the wee hours when traffic is minimal. is the learning curve for starters steep? and what bikes should i go for as a starter?

i was recommended the polygon helios 300 but i prefer the F300 cos i'm quite cheapskate (according to Rodalink's prices). any comments?

also, any tips for safe cycling?

I assume u got knowleadge of basic road theory. So u know yr cyclist rights on road, like who shall u give way too...

Get a headlight and backlight to make yrself visible when cycling at nite. Wear helmet to protect yrself.

Get a side mirror too. It will comes handy when coming to junction with filter lane. U need not turn yr head too much and causes wobbling or cycle out of course.

When comes to junction always be alert , be prepare to e-brake and take note of incoming vehicle even u got the right of way.

Know when to slow and when to speed up neccesary. Example when near filter lane. There is car behind u and he signal his intention to filter in. He is quite near the filter lane as u intend to go straight. Slow down and let him pass.

As the opposite, if the car is still quite a distance away from u and u are near filter lane. Speed up and quickly clear the junction with filter lane.

Reason why, a lot of driver like to filter in at high speed and they like to take the outer lane to swing into filter lane. If u don't take neccesary action to speed up or slow down. Some noob driver with poor estimation of speed or distance may end up crashing into u.

F300? Sounds decent bic with flat bar for upright position for more comfortable ride. Shall be quite ok to go ahead, Even u don't like to at the end of the day and decide to sell off. U wouldn't make too much loses. It's price is $430,right?

last question: say i wanna make a right turn at a cross junction, should i filter out (safely of cos) to the right lane and turn like vehicles do or stick to using the traffic lights?
