Nope don't trust Sapphire glass... It's not as durable and scratch proof as advertised de... That video Gorilla Glass 2 or 3 can do that already lol

Example are watches, they still do scratch easily if you knock it against other surface.

I do trust sapphire glass more than gorilla glass 2/3.

1. my ip5s home button no scratch at all while compare to my glass sp with lots of scratches and cracks.

2. my watch aso made from sapphire glass. i dun handle my watch very well as my job requires me to move heavy stuff, get up n down. no scratch on glass too but other parts other than the glass, lots of scratches.

Yes it's definitely more durable than Gorilla Glass but still not to the extend to be able to use it at ease without any SP yet haha. There's alot of reports on scratches on Sapphire glass on watches.

The surface areas are smaller so it will not be as prone to scratches as smartphones or other part of the watch, while carrying stuffs, the watch tends to face outwards, so it might not come in contact with the loads you are carrying unless you knocked it against something, outwards.

The possibility of dropping/knocking smartphones will be significantly higher than watches.

Agreed. My sapphire surface seiko watch is filled with scratches. I am an office executive. Not that confident that sapphire can save the day :)

whatever it is, iphone shell still scratch easily. the most durable phones i had were polycarbonate ones. but they tend to be a little heavier.

i think sapphire glass got different grades. not sure if the seiko one is as strong as a rolex one.

if u read the posts, don't think it was about kpkb apple or android. anyway both are good in their own ways.

The iPhone 6′s Battery Life May Not Be As Great As You Had Hoped :(

Most of those criticisms don't seem to take into consideration the improved efficiency of the A8 processor so we'll have to wait till the phone is released to know if there is any improvement or not.

Thanks but what you said is kind of opposite from what's shown in the video. I guess the quality of the sapphire crystal or the process of making it does play a big part.

I've full faith in Apple and since I'm also a really careful user (I don't even place the phone on the table without any cushion or mix keys with phone in the same pocket), I guess I'll most likely take a risk and go naked. :D

I will probably go with tough armor with glass sp again.

Can sense iPhone 6 poison is rapidly building up in me :D

Definitely hooting it in Sep. That's one of the main reasons I like ST's fibre entertainment bundle (bcos keyline eligible for 12 mth recon) =:p

4.7

To me, 1-hand operation and ability to fit into trousers pocket are top of my must-have list.

The iphone 4 concept didn't really make it to production but I am still keeping my fingers cross that the ipod design will be used this round to make the 5.5 more trousers friendly.

cos of the curve back, it will likely wobble on a flat table. but the upside is it will be easier to grip.

Hmm to be honest that video kind of show not much in terms for scratch resistance, even just Gorilla Glass 2 survive knife mallet keys etc, just not Sand. I wonder how Sapphire fends against sand and dust?

Yeah actually Gorilla Glass is already very tough. Prior to iPhone, all my previous phones were naked and never had any scratch or dent.

It's only when I switched over to iPhone 5 (4S and below cmi bcos of 3.5" display) that I started buying case and pasting SP (& wasting a lot in the process due to failed application).

Definitely going naked for iPhone 6. Always prefer my phone that way since the old AMPS analog mobile phone days (aka Motorola water bottle :s13:).

The curve on the back is not trousers pocket friendly. The bulge may lead to embarrassing situations too :o
