that look very badly burnt. I've installed a couple of them (the neutral cable) for my flat.. hopefully this situation will not happen.

I got 3 gang sonoff touch. However, I've yet to flash them.

sonoff require neutral?

To consider Sonoff, certain things you need to take into regard

1. Does your light switch have neutral? Assume you're talking about Sonoff T1 UK here. It needs a neutral line. Sometimes it might be worth to lay a neutral line if its a new home though.

2. Cloud or local? Sonoff is cloud ready right out of the box. If you choose to do local without depending on cloud, you can do so via firmware flashing which needs some tinkering. needs more effort, but not impossible.

What Sonoff does offer is flexibility. Its not as nice and polished as Lutron for sure in terms of aesthetics, but on a price point its cheaper as well.

sonoff require neutral?

hi, i think AsusEpoxy has answered that in the earlier comment.

Hi,

I’m in the same situation as you with Livolo 2 way switch. However, mine is only 1 gang 2 way.

Mind sharing your wiring sequence so I could get it right too.

Thanks.

Got it sorted with some help :) Think the electrician that wired my home during the renovation made it a bit confusing.

Actually just google there are a few threads on xiaomi forum about this issue.

Using mine for only 2months

http://bbs.xiaomi.cn/t-13668199-1-o1#comment_top

Looks pretty bad.
And from xiaomi forum it looks they does not have solution.

Occurrence mainly from No Neutral type from the comments.

Not too sure if Neutral type has any difference given non-neutral switch burnt are mostly at the corner where transformer is.

Ask you all HA pro ar, are u all using only 1 app that can control all the appliances using different form of signal (IR, RF, wifi, zigbee, z wave)?

Or need to use many different apps to control? Like fan got own app, switch got own app, light got own app??

Wah chor leh...I will go for the diy route

Another noob question ar, the product must be listed in Smartthings then I can use Smartthings to control right? Lets say I buy this China product which is not listed under Smartthings then I can't pair them up right? Even though the product can be controlled by Zigbee?

Chor or not depend on your requirements actually....

Just like assembling your desktop from Sim Lim Square vs buying a desktop or laptop from microsoft or apple....

At least you wont have issue with burn switch or compatibility issue....

DIY is fragmented still, so you need to put in effort.

Smartthings can control unlisted products, just need to input the appropriate device handler then can liao. its the finding the appropriate DH that is difficult. Pairing too.

Yep. Its not too bad la. Really depends on ur setup. I have 2 harmony hubs controlling my aircons, tvs, fans, etc.
I also have a usb hdd connected to my computer in the study sharing out the drive on my network. I download all my shows into it and cast them via chromecast to any of my TVs around the house. So this computer is always on 24/7.

Anyway, the computer runs HABridge in the background. Its a java app that allows much more granular control of my Harmony hubs. Also allows smartthings and Alexa to manage my IR devices configured in Harmony much better than Harmonys silly restrictive 'activities' limitation.

Anyway all my IR devices can be managed via smarthings through HABridge that talks to Harmony which is an intelligent IR blaster.

So is needa work around to "bluff" it into thinking we are using the listed product ar

Can share how to use Smartthings to control Harmony to control IR & RF? Cos I thinking to buy Smartthings and Harmony like as my hub like many of u all to control all the product using diff signal.

But HABridge thingy seems v chim to me leh:s22::s22:

Any easier way of controlling Harmony via Smartthings?

Ultimately my objective is to use only 1 app (maybe Smartthings app) to control all things.

Anyone tried Homey yet? Seems like this 1 can control Zigbee, z-wave, wifi, IR, RF, Bluetooth sia. Like full range liao :s12::s12:

Its not too difficult. Setup ur harmony hub first. This means program all ur devices into it. Next, reserve an IP address on ur router for your harmony hub. Once ur hub always gets the same IP from ur router's DHCP, start configuring the HABridge app.

If you enter the harmony hubs IP along with its username & password in the command line of HABridge, it will connect to ur harmony and detect all ur configuration. Then you just need to give them a name for the on/off process. All can be configured from HABridge web GUI

For e.g your tv has many buttons to choose. So you need to chose the button for on and one for off. Gotta do the same for each device you want smarthings or alexa to control.

Smarthings and alexa will detect the HABridge as a hue bridge and list everything you configure inside automatically.

If you need help, let me know. If you allow me teamviewer access, i can help you configure remotely too.

I can't remember if I have before. But the integration with Alexa and harmony only allowed one to control via activities.
I find using activities very restrictive cos you can only have one activity running at one time.
Many a times, we will want more granular control which harmony activity doesn't offer.

Leaving your PC on 24/7 is actually okay. I've been doing that for years. Just turn off ur monitor when u not using. I don't think leaving in on but idle actually stresses it out anymore
;)
