the catering segment is different for FCOT. Grade A may look better but also more expensive, and something people will upgrade to.The managers do feel grade B is more stable in terms of pricing.

while they are smaller, management have done well to keep dpu growing since they took over. however, do note that next year HP may moved out of alexandra technopark, so there may be a large overhang there. their price might come down a fair bit.

since the expiry is in sep and nov, and they would need to inform the landlord 6 months in advance you could probably carry out an inquiry to the company whether there are any news in mar next year.

its probably not for the faint hearted but good management means it might be an opportunity.

Yup, very good point there

somemore alexandra technopark is next to the new maple tree biz city... HP is likely to move over to the newer biz park

competition is real even for reits, need to fight for quality long term tenants

The Dow Jones Industrial Average looked set to continue its advance toward 20,000 as stock futures pointed toward a higher open for U.S. equities.

In what’s expected to be a quiet week for U.S. economic data, investors remained fixated on the Federal Reserve’s interest-rate decision, due Wednesday following the conclusion of its two-day policy meeting.

Investors are pricing in a nearly 100% chance of a hike on Wednesday, but it’s the tone of the Fed’s statement, as well as its latest batch of economic forecasts, that will be closely scrutinized for clues to the central bank’s plans for 2017, said James Abate, chief investment officer at Centre Asset Management.

“It’s really going to be expectations for commentary from the Fed related to the pace of rate increases in 2017,” Abate said.

U.S. stocks have rallied aggressively since President-elect Donald Trump defeated Democrat Hillary Clinton in an upset victory in the Nov. 8 U.S. election. Investors are betting that Trump’s proposed policies, including corporate tax cuts, infrastructure spending and deregulation, will be unequivocally pro-business, if passed.

not really. they are likely to move to the build to suit by MINT for HP which is ready in 2017. but HP is big. there is a dbs vickers report on the likely scenarios which hp enterprise or hp singapore will move.

Fed meeting: The central bank kicks off its two-day policy-setting meeting on Tuesday and will deliver its rate announcement on Wednesday at 2 p.m. Eastern Time. The bank is widely expected to raise its benchmark rate by 25 basis pointst, so the big question for traders is how hawkish or dovish the statement will be.

In volatile times like this, I am glad I am vested in SATS and FCL. One is defensive ready to chiong (in fact rise a bit today). The other is good quality with low liquidity meaning less prone to market noise :D

I am sure the design of the annual report is an important factor. But on a more serious note, I am intrigued by your view that it is morphing into a healthcare company. Maybe build a couple of nursing homes and ultimately sell it to a REIT or even REIT those assets themselves? What are your thoughts?

Sorry for the late revert, was out on an appointment.

I don't think it will morph into a healthcare company, they are an investment holding company first and foremost, so they will invest here and divest there. Examples are the sale of a dormitory in 2011, partial sale of a fibre optic network service company in 2015.

FCL getting ready for Xd ba

Saw headline on cna

"2017 the year of/for equities"

Sent from Sony E6853 using GAGT

FCL tested 1.52 many times already. If never break 1.52 after rate hike means should be able to rise and keep steady at 1.56~1.57 in the short term.

If break I hoot more. 4 ammo ready and loaded. :s13::s13::s13:

My portfolio is now as followed:
3 part FCL
2 part Singpost
1 part SATS
1 part CMT
1 part M1
1 part Noble
1 very very small part OCK
4 spare ammo

Edited: FCL/SATS/CMT really meant to be hold long long long term this time round. All 3 in the green.

Singpost/M1 in the red, might be averaging down Singpost by 2 ammo when the time comes and rebalance by selling off 3 part. M1 is.........haiz......

Noble is for very short term trading or short-term long. If short-term long would average down using 1 ammo and sell off and adopt mid-term long.

In down/slow economy like now, good management is very impt
Many reits are showing lower dpu

While good management can still maintain dpu

Example CCT they tend to have longer leases and they very proactive in renewing the leases last year to be ahead of the big supply coming out in 2016/2017, lastly their timing acqusition of capital green
End up instead of 2016/2017 dpu declining
Dpu actually going up for 2016/2017

In 2016 agm many shareholders clap loud loud to acknoledge management's hard work

If u compare CCT with keppel reit, u will be able to tell the big difference between good and bad management

Cheers

One thing I like about Keppel Reit is that its portfolio consists of Grade A+ office buildings (surrounding Marina Bay). To me, they are like the luxury goods that wouldn't failed to find tenants even in a recession market (provided if they are willing to reduce the rents).
