then what career or job do you think is the best value for money/best value for time/best value for effort in sg ?

Civil Service is the best route to financial freedom for average Singaporeans.

It is the only job that allows you to analyse stocks during office hours and leave on the dot to spend time with family, and yet it has consistent bonus/increment/promotion with no risk of retrenchment :o

Give u time to analyze stocks but got give u enough money to buy stocks or not ? Genuine question cos I not civil servant don't know their pay structure. My sis seems to be quite happy there though so I guess pay nowadays is good? They used to pay so much lower than private sector.

Give you one example that I see everyday.

This is the typical SG female:

This is the typical JP female:

In terms of looks and personality, already lose gao gao liao.

But the typical SG female has the ego and self esteem the size of an elephant because she thinks this is her own quality:

Give me SG females for free I also do not want :vijayadmin:

u sure bo ? u been brainwashed by JAV is it ?

I seen few young female japs in sg... don't really look that good as I thought they would be.

Sorry this is not attack. This the truth. Your living expenses are on the low side of a normal Singaporean. This is the fact that you shared.

It is good to practice financial prudence but not financial misery. I do go budget travelling and spend on restaurants once in awhile just to enjoy a little bit higher quality of life.

You can choose to continue living the same life but it is hard to find a partner who can tolerate such lifestyle. So it is good to reflect about this.

To be fair, there are already a few people who share the same view as TS. e.g is Maeda_Toshiie who said his f*** you money is around $300k portfolio and he will be able to semi-retire.

if a 300k portfolio generating 5% per annum + a fully paid HDB flat is not enough for financial freedom (or semi-freedom), then a lot of average Singaporeans are already in deep s*it, if they only save 1k a month or less.

As for a partner.. if the partner is going to end up costing you more in the long run than helping you in your career and dreams/goals.. then why even bother. might as well remain single and just go geylang or pay for social escorts right ?

There's really a wide range. In civil service it's all about the scheme of service, job grade, and current estimated potential.

My side quite lucky as we will be issued iPads. My friends in private sector always say we waste taxpayers money

We can exclude scholars as they are outliners. Their pay confirm good one.

For peasants like me, I entered Civil Service with $3.8K in 2012 and reached $6k in 2016. Next increment is Apr 2017. Bonus (if include AWS) is about 4 months every year. Almost 100k per annum at 29 years old.

Not a bad deal for someone like me with no special skill/talent. I confirm cannot survive in private sector one. This is the only route I can guarantee Financial Freedom in my lifetime. People say I jiak liao bee, I just laugh it off lor.

If join Uniform Group even better, pay u to exercise and got free food/accommodation. Retire still give you one lump sum. One of my friends takes this route. His portfolio expands sibei fast even tho got family and kids.

Let's just say that Singapore attracts a certain kind of female, which is certainly not the feminine type.

NNB signing up for Civil Service now!
