They usually won't go much earlier than 3 to 6 months than estimated completion date la, but won't be as late as TOP date :)
The Estimated date of completion is 2022 but the TOP is 2023. Then the 51-56 months is starting from now???

As an example, with an estimated completion date of 1Q/2Q 2022, it is quite common for the first blocks to be ready for key collection in end-2021. Only occasionally would the contractor fall behind on its schedule and start handing over keys for the first block only in towards mid-2022.

I don't suppose theres a definition of the what or where the first blocks usually mean?

Hahaha

With a few blocks in the development, the contractor will have to start on some of them earlier than the others. The order is entirely up to the project manager, and the first block that finishes is typically the one where the Building Service Centre will be sited.

Not much we can do to foresee exactly which block that will be at this point. From my tracking of HDB's tenders awarded, most civil works for BTO projects are awarded six months after its launch (Eg Bedok launches from Nov 16 are recently awarded), so it is too early to visit the site to ask the contractor before you select the unit anyway :s13:

question for you pro homeseekers:
How do you find out the ethic allocation for the BTO's block?
Do we have to refer to the "Flats Available for Selection (For Invited Applicants)" page to actually know the allocation and use it as our selection?

thats actually a very good question. and on top of that question:
does the ethic allocation split evenly or separately for 3RM and 4RM?

eg. one estate comprise of 3RM and 4RM, does the ethic quota gets applied as a single estate or split into 3RM and 4RM accordingly

Im interested in both of the answers too, Ihave a queue number within the available 680 units but the number isnt exactly favorable @ 54x :(

From my experience, ethnic quota applies to each individual block. the specific quota is on the Flats Available for Selection page.

Thus you may not be able to select a unit in a particular block even if the overall ethnic quota for your race hasn't been exhausted, because the quota for that specific block has been exhausted.

If I understand there's a percentage by block and another by neighbourhood (e.g. the whole of Dakota Breeze) for racial quota.

Quick question

Quick question guys.. I have got a crappy queue number for Nov 2016 BTO (almost 2 times the flat supply).. i thought there should be no chance for me already but I just checked my HDB page and noted that I have been given a date to select a flat (Low level #02 / #03) in Aug 2017.

Concurrently, I have another flat appointment in July 2017 for Feb 2017 BTO (got a good number) and a future flat appointment in late 2017 for May 2017 BTO (got a good number too). I'm intending the purchase the 4R flat under the May 2017 BTO and would give up the 3R flat under the Feb 2017 BTO due to practicality reasons (size and distance from parents' home).

Initially, I thought I'd just accumulate one non-selection count for giving up the Feb 2017 BTO... Now that I even have an appointment date scheduled for a crappy queue number under Nov 2016 BTO, if I intend to skip this selection as well, would I be disallowed to select my 4R flat under May 2017 BTO?

Appreciate if anyone can advise.
