Why use the word sadly? Motorola so bulky.ugly. phasing out? Meaning they will send a letter to us to exchange to tatung or cisco?

Form vs Function.

There are some who prefers something that has a certain advantage over another model - in this case - the front panel controls in case your remote dies / goes missing - you can still control the STB.

Nope. They won't change it for you just like that.

Anyone else gets pixellation or black splotches when watching on-demand BPL games? Dunno if the problem is the source or my plasma TV. Using the Aztech 7000 on 100Mbps fibre. TIA for any help.

I wanted to test out the mioTV Go app in Andriod but unfortunately at this time, the supported Andriod devices are very limited. I am unable to install in my Motorola XOOM, it is not listed.

Tested with samsung note 2. OK. But have 10s lag..

The XOOM is still not in the device support list. So I tried my luck and did a search on the Internet for mioTV Go. Guess what, I found the apk. So I downloaded it on my PC, transferred it to the XOOM and in XOOM, installed it. And of course, set up my login.

The initial run saw a hang, black screen when it should be streaming. Then I got an error that the app has shut down. On second launch, everything worked perfect. I watched the entire Liverpool-ManUtd game. Shut down and re-launch to try again and now back up waiting for the Arsenal-Tottenham game.

Now why did ST not include the XOOM in the supported devices. Afterall, the XOOM is a Google Experience Device.

Google Experience device - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It should be among the first Android device to be tested.

When the dvb t2 is implemented in December, will Singtel ask us to change to new set top box? Or the current cisco and tatung set top box can support dvb t2?

What has DVB-T2 has got to do here?

The T in the term is known as Terrestrial, meaning the signal is receive over the air(through antenna).
Video is delivered by Internet/IP in mioTV case, and therefore do not need another video delivery standard(DVB-T/T2) unless you no longer want to use the service.

That is what I was told.

I was also told that my current bill was printed during the long weekend holiday that just passed (therefore I have not receive yet yesterday) and it shows $29.90 for the period from early Aug to early Sep 2013, that straddle my contract expiry in mid-Aug 2013. Of course I do not know what may happen in the next Sep to Oct 2013 bill (I was thinking that may be back-dating of fees) so the first lady (at 1688) advised it was better I speak to Sales to get the correct answer.

This was what the Sales lady told me.

Subsequently, I also checked the T&C on the JinXuan Combo Pack brochure that I still keep. It states "For full terms and conditions see SingTel - mio TV : Terms & Conditions "

On tis webpage, I clicked on "mio TV General Terms and Conditions" and this is the pdf I get:

http://mio.singtel.com/miotv/_pdf/generic-terms-conditions-for-mio-TV-service.pdf

QUOTE
(a) 12 months minimum subscription period for all content pack(s)/channels(s) will apply unless otherwise stated.
...
...
...
(f) After the minimum subscription period expires, the subscription to any content or channel(s) will automatically continue at the same subscription rates until the subscription is terminated by customer.
UNQUOTE

So, at this time, I have no reason to doubt the ST Sales lady. Of course, if I were to receive a bill shock next bill, I will terminate. But meantime, if ST remains true to their words, I will reciprocate positively by staying with mio TV for the next 3 BPL years or until forever or until they change T&C that affects differently.

.

Today, I received the bill for early-Sep to early-Oct 2013. This period is already past my 12-month expiry in mid-Aug 2013. The bill remains the same at $29.90. No bill shock and clause (f) honoured.

So I think safe to say that I can continue to enjoy the next 3 years of EPL plus some family at $29.90/mth. Of course, fingers crossed.

Hi guys,

Need to consult you on some stuffs because I am thinking of signing up on miotv.

1. Does mio tv still have lags while watching different channels?

2. Does it make a difference with it on Adsl and on fibre?

Thanks in advance!

1. not really.

2. no different if your adsl line don hav any intermittent disconnection. but of cos recommended to be on fibre as it will not hav any problem wit corrosion, like copper line.

1. Not sure if I understand your question. You can only watch 1 channel at any one time. If you are referring to pixelation when changing channel, then the cause is with the line quality, especially the ADSL. ST will fix this problem. Don't think there is problem with Fibre.

2. I am on ADSL. I do see that some channels are only for Fibre users only. Cannot really remember what are they. Anyway, a HD transmission requires about 10Mbps and a phone line can have ADSL provisioning up to 21Mbps. So, maybe for some other features requiement.

If you are already on ST Fibre BB, then mioTV will go via Fibre. If not, you have to check, may go via ADSL. Better to check with ST.

2. FYI, i did a test on the bandwidth it use on HD, is around 6Mbps. normal is around 4Mbps.

For me,

1. On 6meg ADSL previously, no pixellation. But on 150 fibre now, also no issues.

2. Difference for DVR set top box, ADSL allows 2 recordings at the same time. For fibre, you can set 5 recordings at the same time.

Hope this helps.

Ya however, if your internet is bundled or enjoying discount...price will revert back to the original pricing after ur bundle contract is expired.

Hi,

Just a quick for the price for action pack with bpl, is it the best price currently at $64.9? Any better promotion on going? And is there any other charges beside that $64.9/month?

Thank you
