Hi,
Anyone can advise how Singtel default setup for multiple STBs is like?
Is it as following (e.g.: 2 STBs)?
ONT --> Singtel modem/router (port 1, 2 for internet; port 3, 4 for mioTV)
Thanks a lot.

Yup you can do that. If you are using 3rd party router (eg Asus) that has only 1 port for MioTV, you will need a switch. Best is to get IGMP V3 switch.

Don't know if this channel is in my package or it is free preview, but yes i can access the channel.

bro, did you sign up for sport package?

or you under family+ package?

by the way, I'm on old plan 20 family channels without any sign up package, but still able to view channel 119 :)

I find that Starhub cable tv's picture quality are much much better than Singtel Mio adsl picture quality. Thats probably because cable produces superior quality than adsl. However if i change to fiber mio tv, will the quality be superior to Mio tv adsl or better than starhub cable tv or similar?

I notice that some HD channels have better quality. Eg Discovery HD channel looks better than Nat Geo's.

SD chs on mio looks softer while those on Starhub are somehow sharper. But SD chs on Starhub are heavily compressed, hence you will see more small squares when motion scenes are present. The same is not on mio.

For HD chs, mio is better. But IPTV n cable are different technology so not a fair comparison. :)

Its tough not having the UEFA Champions League channel. I missed this morning UCL matches. I missed seeing Ozil's first goal for Arsenal live and Arsene Wenger's joy.

Yes, it is possible to stream over the Internet but try getting a good stream that do not get removed part way and you know what I mean. Put up with the persistent jerks and lags. I have done that for few years before I signed up for mioTV last year, but then only for EPL and STAR Sports available then.

Only very recently, I found out that I can re-contract from ADSL Premium (with a MacBook Pro bundle) to Fibre at the end of the 18th month of contract (less than 6 months left). I had thought that I need to wait until the end of 21st month.

Two weeks ago, I did some tabulation of mioTV various packs in an Excel worksheet and actually the Jingxuan Gold pack at $69.90 is quite attractive, considering that Nat Geo, English movies, STAR Chinese movies and FOX channels are included. Not to mention the most important EPL, UCL, FA Cup, League Cup, Europa. Serie A and La Liga are included but I don't really watch them.

I also tabulated buying the new iPhone 5S for my kids, ST with discount vs Apple Store over 24 months and figure it is better getting them from ST.

So, this afternoon, I went over to Com Centre and re-contract to the 200Mbps Fibre Entertainment Bundle with Jingxuan Gold pack.

By the time of fibre installation in 2-1/2 weeks time, I save $60 x 5mths off the MacBook Pro and $49.90 x 2 months of the first 2 months Fibre free. Total immediate savings $399.80. Long term savings all the headache of finding streams.

Now I have to decide whether to still keep the $29.90 Jingxuan combo with EPL.

My existing initially from last year Aug on ADSL. It was the old Jingxuan Combo of that time before they got the UCL. This pack has EPL. After that no more this pack.

Yes, after tabulation, Jingxuan Gold is more worth it. That's why I re-contract.

Reading from the forum, Fibre mio TV can only connect to LAN 4. Which means only can view at the router near the TP next to TV. I cannot view in bedroom if I want to.

Whereas for ADSL mioTV, there are phone sockets in all the bedrooms. So I can bring the ADSL mioTV to any of the bedroom anytime. If there is a clash of matches on a certain day. I have the flexibility although I can also fall back to mioTV Go app.

This is why I am thinking whether to keep. Furthermore, the price is super good.

In case I may not be clear, I only need to re-contract my ADSL Premium (with MacBook Pro) to Fibre Entertainment. With this, my ADSL Broadband will be replaced by Fibre Broadband. I maintain the analog phone line (now no more quarterly fees) instead of changing to digital, but will incur outgoing local calls (vs free outgoing local calls on digital) but we hardly use it. All using handphones.

ADSL mioTV is not part of the re-contract. It is a standalone. So I can choose to keep it.
