Meaning the wifi mesh nodes must have optimum connection with each other before the singtel tv will work. You can’t have an already weak wifi connection to begin with..

SingTel doesn’t recommend singtel tv to be on wifi because the performance is always unreliable when customers keep demanding wifi setup to be as reliable as cable. You go singtel shop you’ll hear all those demands already.

To the moral of story is, yes airties do support singtel tv but it has to be connected to a singtel router with good connection between the nodes..

Thanks!

What do you mean

Did you have to set it up yourself or Singtel? Did Singtel recommend this set up?

(Sorry to be a pain, but the counter guys refused to acknowledge that this would work - which pisses me off, as I think they are really trying to force me to give up my unlimited plan)

No more Pawn Stars, Storage Wars and Counting Cars :(

It happens to me a few times, random occurrences. My setup is on wired connection.

The screen would freeze momentarily 1 - 2 seconds and it moved on.

Is it just me, or is has this problem been quite prevalent these few days, especially today?

Tried AXN, Discovery Channel etc...

Good evening to all,

I have tried multiple times to search for help in regards to using 3rd party routers for my singteltv and internet.

However i have an concern and i hope you may be able to assist me in my matter.

I am shifting house pretty soon (newly BTO flat, all rooms have data points). I have 2 x Mio Tv Set Up Box intended (1 living room, 1 master bedroom). In order to have this configuration, i am required to stuff my singtel router into the DB box.

However if i were to do this, WIFI signal will be compromised. I would like to seek an advise from you if i am able to utilise 3rd party router, if i am able too than i will be glad to purchase additional router to boost my house internet activity too.

I am hoping to hear from you guys soon. Thank you all and sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Regards.

Hi, i would like to check if you are utilizing 3rd party router? If you are, you can try removing it and restart your whole system and trying it again.

previously i was using a 3rd party router for my room to boost the WIFI strength. However for some reason, i was facing the same issue as you. After which technician came down and let me know that after removing my 3rd party router (Asus). it worked perfectly fine.

So please try it out.

Regards,

It’s best for you to surf the singtel router into the db box and turn off the wifi. Instead, get a wireless ap for your wireless needs..

I would suggest you connect the singtel tv with the singtel router which terminated at the db box. Do not attempt to connect the singtel tv to a 3rd party router because it will not work. You will need a managed switch in between which complicates the whole thing and you’ll need to spend more..

Presently I have Singtel fiber. (my plan allows me to use own router without VLAN)

I have signed up for MIOTV and salesperson told me that their set top box will connect directly to port 2 of the same ONT. This setup does not require their router or any VLAN.

Anyone on this setup?

It’s common for singtel tv to be provisioned at ONT, specifically for those who has unlimited fibre and yet requires a singtel tv, or for those whose router is at a different location.

Where the singtel tv is provisioned at, it doesn’t matter as performance will not be affected.
