Anyone using Singtel Airties? What is your Speedtest speed that u can achieve?

Today Singtel came to set up my MIOTV.

ONR -> Airties1 -> MIO STB1.
ONR -> Airties2 -> MIO STB2.

UTP connection from ONR to both Airties, via 2 different ports from the ONR. Wireless coverage is good, but only able to get 80 Mbps via WiFi. The Singtel tech swap one Airties with Singtel wireless modem and I am able to get 200 Mbps via WiFi. Verified that the Airties is already equipped with the latest firmware.

The Singtel technician suspected the Airties I have are faulty. Say he will return tomorrow with a new pair of Airties. He said should be able to get 150 Mbps with Airties.

So would like to check with owners of Airties 4920, what is your connection speed typically?

Today my Singtel fibre just got activated. Tonight internet down, and MIOTV intermittent.

Reminds me why I jumped ship from Singtel to StarHub previously.

Now back to Singtel because StarHub keeps closing down cable channels.

My StarHub cable only can watch media corp channels. Other channels can’t even watch.

If plug in HDMI cable my channel 5 no signal where if I plug in VGA cable able to watch

I lose hope in StarHub already. Let it die and terminate. Going to jump ship to Singtel

is it possible for me to change my fibre to another ISP and keep my Singtel TV?

can, but you have to activate 2nd port for the new ISP.

singtel tv must only be provisioned on fibre infrastructure, and cannot ride on other ISP's port.

if you choose to retain singtel tv, you will need to disconnect the current singtel router (or your own router) and connect the STB to the ONT instead.

means i have to run two ont and one router?

My Mio tv was doing fine until last week it started to freeze up. Until now it still not resolve.

Waiting for contractor to lay new cable to see whether it is my cable faulty or not. If not, then it is their mio tv box. If still freeze mean I don't know how singtel going to solve it.

Hi Yellowfin, is there any charges for the contractor to go down your house? I'm experiencing intermittent signal problem with my Mio TV. When watching channel 8, it suddenly black screen. After resetting the mio tv and internet, it was ok a while and black screen again. We were suspecting is our mio tv box was too old (more than 3 or 4 years).

I'm wondering anyone receive Singtel coldcall on HD DVR set-top box promo? Special rate at $6.90 for 24 months with no contract. Is it worth the upgrade from my normal HD Set-Top Box as I'm experiencing intermittent signal problem (black screen)?

Watch SingtelTV in 2nd room

Hi All,

I'm currently on Starhub cable TV and am looking at various options before the switch to Fibre TV. My current Fibre provider, however, is Singtel. At the moment, I'm kinda leaning towards moving to SingtelTV so that I can get the Circle discount. My key concern, however, is the ease of getting the TV setup in the 2nd room. Currently, I'm paying for 2 setup boxes from Starhub so that's fairly straight forward to operate. I'm aware of options such as SingtelTV Go but my partner hates fumbling with multiple devices so whatever I end up with should be fairly straight forward for her too.

This is my intended network setup. Any suggestions as to how I can connect up the bedroom TV will be very much appreciated!

(edit) in case the above picture doesn't come out properly, this is the text version.

[OpenNet] Port 1 --> [Singtel ONT] --> [Asus RT-ACT86u router] LAN port 1 --> cabling to living room --> [switch] --> [SingtelTV] & [other devices]

[Asus RT-ACT86u router] LAN port 2 --> cabling to bedroom --> [switch] --> [other device] & [bedroom TV box?]

Singtel gives ONR instead of ONT. if u have cat6 cabling from the ONR to where u want to place the TV boxes, then the 2 TV boxes will be connected directly to the ONR 2 ports ( best choice).

The ONR will still have 2 free ports after connecting the 2 TV boxes. However u cannot use your Asus router as the ONR is already a router. U will need to configure your Asus as an AP instead. Or sell the Asus router and use the Singtel wireless AP.

I just fully switched from starhub to Singtel (internet, TV and mobil) 2 weeks ago. Subscribed to Singtel wireless mesh using 2 Airties AP. My connection is ONR -> cat6 -> Airties -> TV box, same setup for living room and bedroom. Able to get full 230Mbps wireless throughout the whole house through the 2 Airties as AP.

Hey thanks for the reply. Mine is definitely a Singtel ONT. Say so on the box. I had a free 2-month SingtelTV trial last year and the technician was able to set up the Singtel TV box in the living room without any problem. I think it was ONT -> Asus router -> cat5e -> switch -> TV box, but I can't be sure now.

The problem now is that I want to watch TV in the bedroom too but I think my Asus router only allows Lan port 4 to be configured for Singtel IPTV.

Your suggestion gave me an idea. Anyone can advise if this will work?

ONT/ONR(??) port 2 -> cat5e -> bedroom switch -> TV box & other devices
ONT/ONR(??) port 1 -> Asus router (AP mode if ONR) port 4 -> cat5e -> living room switch -> TV box & other devices
Asus router port 1 -> cat5e -> study switch -> other devices

On a separate note, how much did you pay for the 2nd TV box and any additional subscription costs?

No charges so far as it is the mioTV set-top fault after they replace the set-top box.
