thanks for your reply. when i set my stb to 1080i (instead of 1080p), the tv still indicates the resolution to be 1920x1080 50i. Should it not be different?

you are already in 1080i.. frame rate and resolution should not be mixed up even though they have both interlaced and progressive..

conclusion: nothing wrong. haha

Hi guys, I've been using starhub for very long time. recently my contract is up and considering signing up for the $69.90 promo since its cheaper then what I'm payig now.

any reviews of mio TV in terms of signal and other issues? heard a lot of bad review last time that's why signed on starhub instead...

Am still on ADSL signal for MIO and sometimes channel changing got lag/freeze. However head from those using fiber internet signal is smooth....

IIRC only if you subscribe fiber under Singtel, only then would your Singtel TV be transmitted via fiber internet? For any other ISP fiber internet plan would transmit via ADSL...

As above, if you want MioTV under fibre, then you have to subscribe to their fibre bundle plan if not it will be under ADSL.

Yeah I agree.. I recently terminated my fibre entertainment bundle as no one at home is watching it regularly.. when I used it, there isn't any freeze or lag, perhaps I was using it with asus router that's why..

1 bad thing for miotv is that if your TP and your tv is very far away, u need to do cabling.

Yeah I agree.. I recently terminated my fibre entertainment bundle as no one at home is watching it regularly.. when I used it, there isn't any freeze or lag, perhaps I was using it with asus router that's why..

will also be using asus router for myrepublic. not sure if i should give it a try for mio tv, its gonna be at least a 12 month contract so have to decide wisely

Warner TV HD (and Warner TV catch-up) starts tomorrow, 1 Jan, per press release. The exclusive rights that Starhub was hogging on to seems to have expired.

Yep problem with new miotv customers or those from ADSL to Fibre, most of their TVs will be near their own TV ports and rather far away from FTP. Singtel does provide free cabling from their modem to miotv STB though unless they changed it.

Homeplug is another solution, but it highly depends on your home's wiring condition
