Think of it as a set of devices, smartly connected wirelessly which allows your device to be connected at the fastest speed around the mesh zone.

Home plugs exist on this own, standalone AP. Even if you have multiple of it, it will not be as efficient as a mesh for, say Wi-Fi roaming.

Just to add on, wifi mesh works by enabling devices to roam from one place to another without disconnection. From conventional home plugs or access point, when one access point is out of reach the connection will drop and the wireless device will choose another wifi connection.

For mesh, you connect to 1 SSID of the mesh and u can place the mesh wide apart provided the secondary mesh is within the zone of the first mesh, then the wireless devices will be passed from the primary to secondary mesh seamlessly..

This mesh might not be working impeccably in all situation, but good enough for medium sized environment without high intensity usage round the clock..

Anyone know if we need to pay for the rental set up box (suppose 24 months) when we renew the contract?

yes yes.. still gotta pay the rental, unless its a one-time promo to waive rental fee...

Hey! Thanks for the prompt reply!!!

So I guess we gotta wait for a promo with the waiver or try my luck to haggle for a waive rental fee?

I'm currently on the old mio home plan whereby it bundled the internet, home phone and my family members (3)mobile lines.

I was considering whether to recontract, but I realised that they are now charging for Singtel TV which came with the free channels.
If I do recontract, I am forced to choose at least the 'Starter Pack', which bumps the price from 49.90+29.90 (say the Family Starter pack)
Furthermore, I lost the '1GB' free data (now 500mb) that came bundled last time too.

It does not make sense for me to recontract?

Chatted with the Singtelchat.

CSO was telling me if i was on the old mio plan, i could get the monthly 31.90(for recontract)+29.90= 61.90/month

but now I'm wondering if the "- $5 rebate off your monthly bill for 24 months" still remains. Plus the " Free 12 months rental of HD DVR set-top box with sign-up"

Was caught in your situation before, so I opted to terminate the entertainment bundle and retained just the fibre.. so now I have lost all multi line discount and yearly upgrade, but I saved alot on the singtel tv. So it ultimately depends on your own preference..

Comparing current and recontracting, it seems to have much more benefits to recontract despite the "pricy" SingTel TV.

If what the Chat CSO mentioned is true and that I am eligible for the promotional 31.9+29.9+4.9=66.7 PER MONTH
[Not sure if the $5 discount/month is still applicable, if so then its $62/month]

VERSUS
Current plan will be $74.8 ($4.9 for the rental)

Cons: The mobile data sim is cut from 1GB to 500MB, but now 4G. (I dont use it anyway...)

Then theres SingTel circles that can continue the mobile line discounts and in addition free data every sunday for all nominated mobile lines.

If I were to strip everthing and count, its a $5/month difference only.
$31.90 per month for fibre. ($32/$45 savings to drop Singtel TV)
Mobile line discounts currently amounts to about $27.

There is a charge by Singtel if mio TV box is not returned after termination. Doubt you are able to buy a set from someone or out there.

Looking at previous major tournaments, expect announcement close to the tournament itself. I'll make a guess that subscriptions will be just below $100.

can i check those who are using singtel provided modem, aztech 7003 model, what is your default firmware given? Reason i am asking is because my singtel tv every 3 - 5 hrs got this freeze issue for about 3 - 5s. Technician came by and said that it is not a line or tv box issue but more of a firmware issue and have downgraded my firmware to a stable firmware. I will then monitor to see if it happens again.

Anyone can check and compare your firmware version and whether yours have this issue?
